Few of the Van der Linde gang had a happy ending at the end of either Red Dead Redemption game, but Tilly Jackson is the exception. Once the gang disbands at the end of Red Dead Redemption 2, she goes on to have a much more stable, and seemingly happier life in the city after settling down.
Tilly was originally a member of the Foreman Brothers gang but was exiled after killing one of the leader’s cousins for coming on to her. She ed up with the Van der Linde gang for protection and was a consistent RDR2.
RDR2 did an excellent job of wrapping up all of the characters’ stories and letting players know what happens to their favorite NPCs after the game ends. Players learn what happened to Tilly in the game’s epilogue while playing as John after he runs into her at the trolley station in Saint Denis.
What Red Dead Redemption 2’s Epilogue Reveals About Tilly
While walking through the city, Van Der Lindes, and from the sound of it, she did well for herself. Tilly, who now uses her married name of Pierre, says that she and her husband recently welcomed a baby girl. She also gushes over how luxurious and large her home is, even boasting to John and Abigail that they have servants.
Tilly does express some guilt over her past lifestyle in the letter, explaining that she feels she’s leading a double life or is somehow a fake. She says “I feel like the biggest fraud alive.” Tilly its that she’s confessed to her husband about her previous antics with the Van der Lindes, but she describes him as understanding about her situation. “[He] tells me everyone is a fraud and we are all the same underneath,” Tilly writes.
She concludes the letter by expressing how much she misses her former Red Dead Redemption 2 gang , particularly John, Abigail, and their son. She calls them the “only [family] I really got.” Even though Tilly may miss her previous lifestyle, it seems that the Red Dead Redemption 2 character did well for herself after leaving the gang, much better than most of the other who met untimely, and often brutal, deaths.
