With the trailer for Halloween Ends having recently been released, horror fans are getting ready for the final movie in the beloved slasher trilogy. While Laurie will always be an all-time favorite final girl, as she has fought against Michael Myers time and time again, there are many characters from slasher films who have made a positive impression on audiences.

Redditors have shared their favorite slasher characters who are clever, tough and strong, and while they don't make it to the end of their respective movies, they are well-written and compelling in every single scene.

Karla (I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, 1998)

I Still Know What You Did Last Summer Brandy and Jennifer Love Hewitt

best '90s slasher movies, Julie's best friend Karla is a perceptive and intelligent character who carries the movie.

The fan wrote of Karla, "She avoids the final showdown with Ben Willis so she's technically not a final girl, but I found her way more likeable than Julie James." While it's possible to say that Julie makes silly decisions throughout the story, Karla is always smart and no-nonsense.

Kate (Fear Street Part 1: 1994)

Julia Rehwald as Kate in Fear Street Part 1 1994

While there are many main characters in Fear Street Part 1: 1994Redditor HahGHEEEY appreciates Sam, Deena and Simon's good friend Kate, writing, "She was so much more interesting than the main girls."

Kate is tough from the start and has an excellent scene where she's babysitting young kids and tells them that they can watch My So-Called Life if they help her out. It's terrible that Kate dies as she's such a beloved part of the first part of this trilogy.

Annie (Halloween, 1978)

While Laurie Strode will always be one of the best Halloween charactersRedditor CliffordMoreau likes her pal Annie, writing that she's "The archetypal friend of the final girl."

Halloween is impressively eerie because of Michael Myers, but Annie makes an impact too. Annie is already having a terrible October 31st because she wants to spend time with her boyfriend Paul, but he's in trouble. Like Laurie, Annie is babysitting, but Annie meets her demise when Michael kills her from the backseat of her car. Annie is a sweet, loyal friend and her death is really sad.

Jenna (Friday The 13th, 2009)

When it comes to great slasher characters who aren't final girls, Friday the 13th remake." Redditor oconnell2001 agreed, "Danielle is a great pick, was so sure she was primed to make it out."

Jenna and her boyfriend Trent their friend group at the cabin that Trent's family owns, which happens to be located at Camp Crystal Lake. Jenna makes a good effort to survive and puts up a fight against Jason Voorhees but, unfortunately, isn't so lucky.

Vicky (Halloween, 2018)

Redditor juice-pulp likes "Vicky from Halloween 2018," who is good friends with Laurie's granddaughter Allyson. Michael Myers murders Vicky and also her partner Dave, which is emotional since now Allyson has lost a lot, just liek her grandmother.

Vicky feels like an old-fashioned slasher character and a lot like Laurie's friends in the 1978 movie. Vicky is in the same position that Laurie and Annie were in as she babysits Julian, who talks about the boogeyman, a reference to the famous quote from the original film.

Barb (Black Christmas, 1974)

Barb in Black Christmas (1974)

For Black Christmas is a classic slasher movie that inspired so many other stories, focusing on students who are spending the holiday together in their sorority house and who realize a killer is after them.

Barb has a horrible time as she suffers from asthma and she's afraid to stay at the house, believing that someone is spying on her. Barb's death scene is definitely one of the most upsetting from any slasher film.

Taryn (A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, 1987)

Jennifer Rubin as Taryn in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 Dream Warriors

A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors" is a strong slasher character. Taryn meets Nancy as she's staying at Westin Hills Hospital and Nancy works there now. Taryn has had a tough life and she is sweet, caring and endearing.

Taryn and Nancy both fight Freddy Krueger in their dreams, and why Taryn doesn't make it, she does emerge as a tough and memorable character who has been just as affected by Freddy as Nancy has been. Many fans would be happy to watch an entire movie about Taryn, who sadly is killed by Freddy in an incredibly dark way.

Tatum Riley (Scream, 1996)

bravest characters in Scream and as Sidney's best friend, she does everything within her power to show Sidney comion and love, while approaching Ghostface in a totally fearless way.

Fans will never forget Tatum's death as she gets stuck in a garage door. Right before her murder, Tatum is courageous, as she goes down into the basement to grab some beers without a care in the world. Even though she knows that a killer is on the loose, Tatum really isn't afraid, making her an unforgettable and clever character.

Megan (The House Of The Devil, 2009)

Greta Gerwig in a still from The House of the Devil

AdvertisingBulky2688 likes "Greta Gerwig in The House of the Devil" and Redditor oconnell2001 said "Loved her! So shocking what happens to her."

In Ti West's 2009 film, Samantha Hughes takes a babysitting job, and her best friend Megan is the person who drives her over to the creepy house. Megan isn't on screen very long and has a brief role in the movie, but she has made an impression on fans, who like her smart personality. Megan can tell that something is definitely wrong.

Bobby-Lynne (X, 2022)

Brittany Snow leaning against a gas pump in X

While Maxine and Lorraine are also well-written characters, X" is an impressive non-final girl. Bobby-Lynne is confident and secure in who she is and she's happy to make this film and then move on, hopeful that she will become a star afterward.

Bobby-Lynne's death scene feels inevitable as it doesn't seem like the whole group can survive, but it's still absolutely shocking to see an alligator take her out. Although audiences don't find out anything about Bobby-Lynne's life before making this adult film, she has a larger-than-life and fun-loving personality and feels like a real, genuine person.
