Alan Tudyk's Harry Vanderspeigle is Harry isn't Tudyk's only character in Resident Alien, he is the persona he has embodied most frequently throughout the story.
Of course, Harry's species (which has never been properly named) isn't the only alien race in the show that boasts interesting powers and abilities. For instance, the lore surrounding Resident Alien's Grey Aliens has also been fleshed out quite significantly since the show's first episode - especially in season 2. However, because Harry is so prominent in Resident Alien's story, it can be much easier to pick up on what he can do that other characters can't.
Harry's "Molecular Reconstruction" Allows Him To Take The Form Of Other People
Tudyk's Resident Alien character is a shapeshifter
Harry's human form isn't randomly generated. Instead, he has altered his physical body to be identical to the human he killed when he arrived in Patience - the real Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle. Tudyk's character has reverted to his native Alien form a few times, but not for long. He spends such a long period as a human that his psychology begins to change. Harry begins to develop human emotions and form bonds with others - which is something his inner monologue often confirms as being unheard of for of his race. So, the transformation is far more than just a surface-level change.
Harry's disguises aren't infallible, as certain human characters have a genetic mutation that allows them to see his true face.
Harry has also taken on the shape of other Resident Alien characters, but the process isn't an easy one for Harry to do. For instance, he briefly transforms into Sara Tomko's Asta Twelvetrees in Resident Alien season 2 and even pulls off an entire mission while wearing the face of Alex Borstein's Carlyn. Both times, he uses the Alien Ball technology to assist him in the change. Presumably, changing in and out of his Alien form and the body that looks like Alan Tudyk takes far less effort, and can be attributed to something similar to muscle memory.
Alan Tudyk's Resident Alien Character Is Incredibly Strong & Durable
Harry is an effortlessly good fighter
Harry is very rarely seen in hand-to-hand combat, but when he does fight, it becomes clear just how terrifying he is as an opponent. There are a few different occasions where Tudyk's character is witnessed absorbing hits like he's a massive brick wall. Additionally, his fight scene with Mandell Maughn's Lisa Casper on the train in Resident Alien season 2, episode 7, "Escape From New York," proves just how effortless and well-coordinated he is in a fight.

Resident Alien's 8 Greatest Cameos From Sci-Fi Stars, Ranked
Resident Alien is a quirky and charming sci-fi show that has many connections to the genre as a whole, including some incredible cameo appearances.
If Harry's skill in combat wasn't enough, he also heals incredibly quickly. There have been times when Asta has had to intervene and assist with said healing, but once certain things are ed for, Harry is always back to full health surprisingly quickly. So, although he's rarely asked or required to act as a soldier, there are enough examples to prove he is incredibly capable of doing so.
Harry Vanderspeigle Can Manipulate Other Resident Alien Characters' Memories
Harry's species have powerful psychic abilities
Arguably one of Harry's most dangerous skills is his ability to remove and change memories of other Resident Alien characters. Harry proves he can implant completely false memories, alter memories to suit his needs, or even remove an entire sequence of events from the mind of an unsuspecting individual. He doesn't even need their permission to do so, as all he needs to do is place his hand near someone's head and a few moments later their recollections are toyed with.
Resident Alien season 2, episode 13, "Harry, a Parent," also suggests Harry has some limited form of telekinesis, as he leaves a crop circle for the Alpha Draconians without physically touching the crops.
There are two especially prominent examples of Harry's use of this power. The first one is making Asta forget she killed someone to protect Harry, as the guilt was eating away at her from the inside. The other is when Harry was almost arrested for the murder of the man whose face Alan Tudyk's character wears. To avoid incarceration, Harry falsifies the memories of Sheriff Mike Thompson (Corey Reynolds) and Deputy Liv Baker (Elizabeth Baker) to make them forget their discovery and also to make them believe the FBI had taken over the case.
Harry Vanderpeigle Can Procreate With Humans In Resident Alien
Bridget is a human/alien hybrid
Interspecies breeding isn't unheard of in science-fiction, but when the aliens are so different from the humans, it's perhaps a little less likely to be possible. However, Resident Alien proves that Harry's species' DNA is compatible with the human genome. This is proven by the existence of Bridget, a human/alien hybrid - whose true father is Goliath - a future version of Alan Tudyk's father. Bridget's mother, Violinda Darvell, is played by Maxim Roy.
Bridget's existence is a not-so-subtle nod to the fact that Harry and Asta have a child together in the Resident Alien comics from Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse.
Resident Alien doubles down on its alien/human genetic compatibility with the introduction of the Grey/human hybrids. The difference here is that the Greys appear to add their DNA to fully human hosts, whereas Bridget has been naturally conceived. So, it's unclear if it is only Harry's species and humans that are genetically compatible, or if the world of Resident Alien allows a much broader combination of DNA. Either way, Bridget's existence is a not-so-subtle nod to the fact that Harry and Asta have a child together in the Resident Alien comics from Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse.
Resident Alien's Main Character Is Deceptively Intelligent
Harry makes up for his social downfalls with his innate cleverness
Harry grew up and lived on another planet before landing on Earth, so his overall demeanor makes him seem very unusual by human standards and almost makes him seem very stupid at times. Appearances can be deceiving, though. Despite the fact he doesn't always pick up on human social cues or understand certain conventions, he is still incredibly clever when it comes to scientific matters and cold, hard facts and figures. If it weren't for Harry's immense intellect, huge portions of the story wouldn't have happened.

This 2-Minute Resident Alien Scene Is The Most Underrated Moment In The Entire Show
Resident Alien is filled with exciting and hilarious moments, but one of the show's most touching scenes doesn't get the attention it deserves.
Paired with Harry's limited access to Alien technology, his mind becomes one of the most potent weapons in the show, along with what is arguably Earth's greatest asset. The human homeworld lacks anything that can come close to the advanced technology of those from among the stars, so even with the devices that Harry is able to cobble together, it makes it a much fairer fight. Without him, Resident Alien would have been over very quickly.
