Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) is a bold and confident character in the teen drama Riverdale, to the point where she starts several businesses throughout her time on the series. Veronica's father Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) has billions in the bank and runs his company Lodge Industries before being jailed for fraud and embezzlement. While Veronica arrives in Riverdale in the pilot episode determined to make a name for herself without her famous and wealthy father's assistance, she shares his entrepreneurial spirit and desire to be in charge of her own companies rather than work for other people.
In contrast to her friends, Veronica is always a strong, capable person who knows she can be successful. While Veronica changes each season of Riverdale, she never stops believing in herself or coming up with fresh ideas. By season 2, she thrives as a business owner, and although she is still a high school student, she enjoys the thrill of making money. In season 5, she returns home after a stint as a trader and says "They called me the She-Wolf of Wall Street." No matter which business Veronica runs, she fights her father's legacy at every turn, wanting to remove herself from his shadow and influence.
Veronica Owns Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe
In season 2, episode 22 "Chapter Thirty-Five: Brave New World," Veronica becomes the owner of Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe after Pop Tate (Alvin Sanders) sells it to Hiram. Although a confusing part of Veronica's Riverdale arc is that she owns a diner during her teenage years, this proves that she is no ordinary high schooler and that she has big dreams of making a mark on the small town where she has just moved. She makes a smart business deal, allowing Hiram to run the bar Whyte Wyrm where the Southside Serpents gather if he lets her own the diner.
While she may be young to be in charge of a restaurant, Veronica knows that Pop's is important to the Riverdale residents as it's a place of community and friendship, and she wants to make sure that it survives. She also begins her pattern of finding independence from her wealthy family by learning the art of negotiation. While Riverdale had a shortened season 4, the storylines are wrapped up, with Veronica giving Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe back to Pop when she receives an acceptance letter from Barnard College.
Veronica Opens A Speakeasy Called La Bonne Nuit
Veronica runs the speakeasy La Bonne Nuit out of the basement of Pop's after finding out that it was a speakeasy back in the day. Although it's a clever idea and the characters enjoy spending time there, she struggles to make enough money and hosts casino-themed evenings to stay in business. This is one of Veronica's most compelling businesses because of the trouble that she runs into. She is afraid when a man who is connected to the mob, Elio Grande (Julian Haig), wants to be in charge, and later, Hiram and Jughead's mother and Serpent member Gladys Jones (Gina Gershon) believe that they run the place.
The speakeasy is a reminder of the town's dangerous elements, namely that the Serpents commit crimes in Riverdale and it is difficult to stop them. While Veronica isn't a quitter, she is also used to getting her way, and she doesn't appreciate that people are trying to ruin the speakeasy that she has created, as she wants this to be a place where people can have fun and bond with each other.
Veronica And Cheryl Own A Rum Company Called Maple Run
In season 4, Veronica proves her entrepreneurial personality once again when she starts a rum company. After Hiram takes away the speakeasy's liquor license, Veronica gets revenge and creates the kind of business that he wanted to. Veronica and Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) work together, realizing that Veronica's grandmother's rum recipe and the Blossom family's maple syrup taste great together. While they can't sell it at the speakeasy, they show their intelligence when they call it a club where people can dance instead, and share it without making anyone pay for it.
After the death of her brother Jason Blossom (Trevor Stines), Cheryl opens herself up to new friends, but she never loses her sense of confidence, which makes her the perfect business partner for Veronica. They find a smart solution and sell their rum at The Maple Club, which is part of the Blossom family and one of the many clubs or restaurants that Veronica runs in town throughout the years.
Veronica Opens The Jewelry Store La Petite Bijoutière
In season 5, Veronica purchases Blue Velvet Video and opens La Petite Bijoutière because she wants to sell jewelry and ensure that Riverdale residents have somewhere to work. The town is in financial trouble after Hiram, who is the mayor, has failed to allow it to thrive, which pains Veronica and gives her a problem to focus on solving. Like the character's other businesses, this one is not without stress or problems, and robbers take all the inventory. After the season 5 Riverdale time jump, Veronica wants to keep the momentum of her job on Wall Street going by running a store, but it isn't easy.
While Reggie assists Veronica in finding the jewelry and allowing the store to stay in business, it's always on shaky ground. While she runs La Petite Bijoutière in order to hire people and assist her town, which is her motivation for all of the work that she does, the fate of the store is always uncertain.
Veronica Owns Pearls & Posh And Is Helped By Reggie
Veronica's main business is Pearls & Posh, which she starts in season 5. She chooses this name because she wears pearls and calls herself Monica Posh when she doesn't want anyone to know who she is. Hiram schemes often on Riverdale and he makes it difficult for his daughter to run this business. Veronica makes investments after selling her father's Glamerge Egg for a profit of $50,000, starting with the Riverdale Bulldogs and Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe. She operates Pearls & Posh from her jewelry store.
Reggie Mantle (Charles Melton) begins working for the company and he and Veronica both have a talent for investing. Pearls & Posh serves a crucial purpose to the series, proving that whenever Veronica runs a business, she must get revenge or fix the problems that her father or husband have created. She shows her industrious spirit and strong personality when she takes Hiram's palladium and sells it for $300,000, relieved she can recoup the money that Chad Gekko (Chris Mason) stole.
Veronica And Reggie Run The Casino Babylonium
Season 6 focuses on Rivervale, a parallel universe of the small town, and Veronica and Reggie open a casino called Babylonium because they want to help Riverdale flourish before this supernatural version of the town appears. This business idea allows Veronica's arc to come full circle as when she moves here in season 1, she realizes that Riverdale is nothing like her hometown of New York City and she wants people to find employment and be able to themselves. She appreciates the friendships she has made and wants to do something good for the town.
Before Bailey's Comet hits the town, Veronica lets Reggie be in charge of the casino by himself. While Veronica makes poor decisions on Riverdale, this one is logical. When the characters travel back in time to the 1950s in the season 7 premiere, it is likely that Veronica will come up with a new business idea since now that she doesn't run the casino, she will miss being financially independent.
