It has been confirmed that Betty Cooper's long lost brother will be making his debut in Archie comics that have been around since the early '40s. The only difference is, while the comics focused on Archie and his friends Jughead, Betty and Veronica going on various adventures, laughing and Jughead constantly munching on burgers, CW's Riverdale comes with darker twists and turns - and that was apparent from the very first episode. Riverdale has everything you would not expect to be in a series based on the Archie Comics: Teacher-student sex, drug dealing, murder, incest and Jughead not munching on burgers.

Despite its drastic shift in tone, Riverdale, created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, has been a hit among critics and fans alike. Naturally, it was renewed for a second season. In the Betty's long lost brother, named Chic, in season 2.

TV Line confirmed that the CW teen drama is currently casting the role of Betty's long-lost brother, Chic Cooper. However, there is no information as of yet regarding the characteristics of Chic, both physical and otherwise. What we do know is that Chic will be a recurring guest star in season 2 and will make his first appearance midway through the second season.

While Chic Cooper isn't a main character in the comics, he sure is interesting. Making his first appearance in Little Archie in 1960s as a teenager, Chic has strawberry blonde hair and is the (probable) eldest of the Cooper children. In the comics, Chic mostly makes his appearances when the young teens need an adult chauffeur. However, this will probably not matter in the TV series as Archie and his gang of friends are much older. The most interesting aspect of Chic Cooper is that he is also a secret agent working for the government.

It's safe to assume that Chic's appearance will cause more drama in Betty's life, which is already spiraling out of control, especially considering her "broken" in season 2. But, will Chic Cooper being a secret agent come into play? Will he even be a secret agent on the show? We'll find out in season 2.
