Rocket League Season 3 is now underway, after launching on April 7. The newest content in the long-running and popular sports game adds in new cars, a Rocket , and dozens of unlockable cosmetics. Fans of the online competitive side of Rocket League may also be interested in a number of changes made there. Here are some of the biggest highlights from Rocket League's Season 3 update for fans to know about.
The new Season 3 Rocket introduces a new car, the Tyranno, and some changes to Pro Tier Rewards. Thanks to the new update, Pro Tier Rewards should now be more consistent among all players and are even visible before being unlocked. This should hopefully ensure players are getting the rewards they really want, instead of leaving it up to chance. However, these Pro Tier changes mean that Certified rewards will no longer drop in Rocket .
A brand-new stadium, DFH Stadium (Circuit), has also been added to Rocket League, offering fans a new view. The DFH Stadium (Circuit) is a part of Online Playlists, Private Matches, and Free Play. While the new stadium and Tyranno car may be part of the reason Rocket League's servers crashed on April 7, there are still some other changes that should excite longtime fans and newcomers alike.
Rocket League's Season 3 Competitive Changes Explained
Now that Season 2 is over, players are getting their seasonal rewards, including boosts and new Grand Champion and Supersonic Legend titles, and remaining Season 2 Tournaments Credits are converted into All-Star Cups. However, Season 3 of Rocket League also includes a number of competitive changes. The MMR thresholds in Diamond ranks and above have been adjusted for 3v3 Standard and 2v2 Doubles, and tiers from Champion I through Grand Champion III now have a wider MMR range as well. Additionally, every tier’s MMR range has been narrowed in an attempt to make Champion+ ranks more reachable at lower numbers, and the intensity of MMR compression has also been reduced across all modes.
The Stage 1 Challenges for Season 3 are also now underway, and players can unlock a number of new Rocket League tier rewards that have been added. Since its release in 2015, Rocket League has maintained a loyal following and the newest season attempts to reinvigorate the game (and its fans). From a new car and stadium to competitive changes and new rewards, there appears to be a lot for Rocket League fans to be excited about in the newest update.
