Medallions boost stats or give other bonuses in The Rogue Prince of Persia. The Prince can use four at a time, creating a special loadout. Various Medallion combinations will also empower each other, making for stronger pairings.

Medallions are first provided by the NPC Paachi, who will the camp shortly into the game. Speak to them to learn about new Medallions and to rearrange your gear choices. However, you will get random Medallions during each dungeon run, making Rogue Prince of Persia similar to Dead Cells.

Upgrading Medallions in The Rogue Prince of Persia

Browsing found Medallions in The Rogue Prince of Persia

As mentioned, the Medallions gained while playing will be random. This is the core of The Rogue Prince of Persia's new Roguelike mechanics. However, some Medallions are completely inaccessible at the start of a run. Instead, you must craft or find the remaining recipes to add them to the larger loot table in The Rouge Prince of Persia.

Medallions are not individually upgraded. Instead, the Prince improves each of his four individual Medallion slots with crafting points. When a Medallion is placed into a higher level slot, it will power up or power down when moved.

Several Medallions work well off each other in The Rouge Prince of Persia. You could make a vaulting Prince, who unleashes all sorts of attacks after leaping, or one that leans into fire and poison. You may want to change your build depending on the zone and the challenges that come with it. Still, you cannot plan for every encounter, as everything is procedurally generated.
