Tim Is Hiding Something From Lucy

At the beginning of The Rookie season 6, episode 5, "The Vow," Tim received a mysterious call during one of his and Lucy's date nights and abruptly left her apartment. Of course, Lucy was worried about her boyfriend, who was, unbeknownst to her, meeting with a man from his past in the military (Mark Greer) about a previously agreed-upon revenge plot involving murdering someone named Ray. Tim and Greer took a vow (hence the episode's title) to kill Ray, but, Tim had no interest in following through with their plan once he became a cop.

The ABC procedural drama keeps adding cracks in the foundation of Tim and Lucy's relationship, and it's only a matter of time before it breaks.

While all this was happening, Lucy wondered what Tim was going through as he was AWOL and not answering her calls for 36 hours. Even when Tim finally showed up at Lucy's apartment, he refused to give her an answer in The Rookie season 6, episode 5. So, the fan-favorite couple got into an intense argument, and she kicked him out. Tim insisted he couldn't tell her anything because it would jeopardize her career, but she wouldn't accept that as an answer. Unfortunately, this wasn't Tim and Lucy's first fight this season.

The premiere of The Rookie season 6 ended with Tim and Lucy fighting about her taking the detective's exam. Lucy thought he wanted her to fail and was purposefully sabotaging her, and Tim couldn't believe she would think he would do that to her. The couple made up at Nolan and Bailey's wedding in The Rookie season 6, episode 2. However, Tim also itted that he had reservations about Lucy going undercover because of his past with Isabel. Lucy ultimately ed the detective's exam but ranked low, meaning she has little chance of becoming a detective.

Tim and Lucy will likely either resolve their issues or break up in episode 6, "Secrets and Lies."

Tim & Lucy Might Break Up In Episode 6

The ending of The Rookie season 6, episode 5 didn't settle the tension between Tim and Lucy, so the next hour must address Chenford's problems. Unfortunately, the resolution may not be what viewers are hoping for, based on the past episodes of season 5 and the promo for episode 6. In the teaser video, Lucy approaches Angela about her and Tim's most recent debacle, and Angela then asks him about it. The next scene in the trailer shows Lucy yelling at Tim, "Stop trying to protect me! You have to tell me what's going on with you — right now."

Tim and Lucy will likely either resolve their issues or break up in episode 6, "Secrets and Lies." Whatever the case, the hour should contain whatever the writers have been building up to concerning Chenford's storyline in season 6. However, a breakup seems much more likely than any positive outcome in The Rookie.
