Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3 chipset. The first Galaxy Book Go was released in 2021 as a budget Windows on ARM laptop. It was available in both 4G and 5G variants. Samsung also sold a Wi-Fi-only model of the PC.
For the Galaxy Book 2 Go 5G, there is no 4G model this time around, but buyers will be able to purchase a Wi-Fi variant if they prefer. Samsung has equipped the on the 5G version.
It Ships With Windows 11
The new laptop keeps the 14-inch FHD TFT display size of the previous generation, but it's unclear if the display is the same. Samsung says the display is housed in a compact body that weighs 1.44kg (3.17 pounds) and is 15.5mm thin. In addition, the Galaxy Book 2 Go 5G has ed MIL-STD-810H tests for high temperature, low temperature, thermal shock, and more. The laptop has a 180-degree hinge, so s can lay the screen flat.
The Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3 which powers it is a 6nm chip, and it brings a significant bump in performance. According to Qualcomm, the chipset boasts a 60 percent increase in multi-threaded U performance, a 30 percent increase in single-threaded U performance, and a 70 percent increase in GPU performance over the Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 that powers computers such as the Asus ExpertBook B3 Detachable and the IdeaPad Chromebook Duet 3. Samsung has paired the chipset with 4GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. There is also a microSD card slot for adding more storage.
The Galaxy Book 2 Go 5G has both a physical SIM slot and an eSIM slot for connecting to a 5G network. However, only one SIM can be active at a time (single standby). In addition, it only has for sub-6GHz networks. It also has Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, two USB-C ports, a USB-A 2.0 port, and a microphone/headphone combo jack. It packs a 42.3Wh battery and ships with a 45W power adapter.
The Galaxy Book 2 Go 5G will ship with Windows 11 Home out of the box, and includes a few proprietary Samsung software features such as the ability to use a Galaxy Tab as a second screen and easily switch select Galaxy Buds models between connected devices. There is also a tool for transferring files, apps, and settings from an existing PC to the new laptop, while Samsung's Quick Share, which works like Nearby Share, allows s to transfer files between their Galaxy devices.
The Galaxy Book 2 Go 5G starts at £499 (~$615) for the Wi-Fi model with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It jumps to £649 (~$800) for the 5G variant with the same configuration, while the 5G model with double the RAM and storage sells for £749 (~$925). It will be available for purchase by the end of January. Samsung hasn't revealed details of the Galaxy Book 2 Go 5G's availability in the U.S. at the moment.
