Samsung's interest in the market hasn't diminished over the years. If anything, it's only gotten stronger. Samsung churns out new tablet models every year, tries targeting a variety of prices, and regularly tests new features/specs with them.
This is on full display with the Galaxy Tab S8 series. Samsung announced a trio of tablets in February 2022 to expand its flagship tablet family. The Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8+ are relatively modest upgrades over their Tab S7 predecessors. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, however, is something completely different. It's one of the biggest tablets Samsung's ever made, it's the company's first Ultra tablet, and one of the most expensive. More importantly, it also has some of the best specs we've ever seen on a Galaxy Tab to date.
The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra's impressive spec sheet starts with the display. It has a 14.6-inch Super AMOLED display, 2960 x 1848 resolution, and up to 120Hz refresh rate. That makes it larger than Apple's biggest iPad Pro and one of the largest tablets on the market. Period. At the top of the display is a small notch housing the Tab S8 Ultra's two front-facing cameras — including 12MP wide + 12MP ultra-wide sensors. It also touts quad stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos , and an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
More Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra Specs
Taking a look inside the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, the 'ultra' specs continue. Powering the tablet is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. It's the same chip inside the Galaxy S22 and the fastest Snapdragon processor currently available. Complementing it are huge amounts of RAM and storage. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra comes with your choice of 8, 12, or up to 16GB of RAM. On the storage front, it's available with 128, 256, or 512GB of space. There's even microSD to increase the storage up to 1TB.
The impressive specs continue on the battery front. The Tab S8 Ultra has a massive 11,200 mAh battery with up to 45W wired charging. Also present are two rear cameras (13MP wide + 6MP ultra-wide), optional 5G/LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and an included S Pen in the box. And, just like the other Tab S8 models, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is running Android 12 with Samsung's One UI interface.
That makes the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra one of the most powerful tablets you can buy right now, second only to the iPad Pro. It has a flagship-grade processor, display, battery, and virtually everything else. All of those specs do come with a steep $1099 starting price, but if you're looking for a tablet that has every high-end specification imaginable, the Samsung Tab S8 Ultra should check all the boxes.
