The Sandlot's Patrick Renna Is In The Baseball Movie You Gotta Believe

Patrick Renna played Hamilton "Ham" Porter in The Sandlot

Patrick Renna, one of the most recognizable characters from The Sandlot, appears in the new baseball movie You Gotta Believe. Renna plays the incomparable Hamilton "Ham" Porter in The Sandlot, who provides many of the most hilarious and classic lines from the 1993 baseball movie. Ham may be best ed in The Sandlot for instructing young Scotty Smalls how to make a s'more in the team's treehouse after being stunned that Smalls had never had one before with his line, "You're killing me, Smalls!"

Renna plays Kliff Young in You Gotta Believe, who shares several pivotal scenes with Kinnear's head coach character. Renna hasn't starred in too many sports movies since his Sandlot days, which makes his appearance in You Gotta Believe all the more full-circle and special. His presence in an inspirational Little League baseball movie like You Gotta Believe feels right and adds an element of authenticity since he played such a crucial role in what is arguably the best film ever made about kids playing summertime baseball.
