James McAvoy, Riz Ahmed, and more have been cast in Neil Gaiman’s scripts for the show are already finished and casting was well underway before production stopped. Even though the Netflix series is currently on a temporary pause due to the pandemic, fans of The Sandman comic will have another adaptation to look forward to soon.

According to Audible, the audiobook company and DC are coming together to "present the first-ever audio production of the New York Times best-selling series written by acclaimed storyteller Neil Gaiman (who also serves as co-executive producer)." The audiobook drama is adapted and directed by Dirk Maggs, narrated by Gaiman, and will be performed by an all-star cast that includes "James McAvoy [...] in the title role," along with "Riz Ahmed, Kat Dennings, Taron Egerton, Samantha Morton, Bebe Neuwirth, Andy Serkis, and more."

Sandman's audio drama is set to release this summer on July 15. It's a perfect way to occupy fans of Sandman who are anxiously awaitingplanning out season 2. Not to mention, the incredible cast that's already attached will surely make it a phenomenal listening experience.

Audible's official Sandman synopsis reads: "When The Sandman, also known as Lord Morpheus - the immortal king of dreams, stories and the imagination - is pulled from his realm and imprisoned on Earth by a nefarious cult, he languishes for decades before finally escaping. Once free, he must retrieve the three “tools” that will restore his power and help him to rebuild his dominion, which has deteriorated in his absence."
