Marvel’s forgotten the future of Savage Avengers in question. Pepose assuaged the fans’ fears, stating not only is the book returning, but it's also bringing Punisher 2099 along for the ride. Pepose then shared an image from the book, depicting a scene of absolute carnage–several of the team, including Daredevil and Dagger, are hurt badly, while a Deathlok bleeds to death. Standing over them all menacingly and with both guns in the air is Punisher 2099.
Pepose offered no clues on exactly how Punisher 2099 fits into the story, but whatever his reason for being there, it means chaos and violence. Like his predecessor, Jake Gallows takes no prisoners in his one-man war against crime. Throw the Savage Avengers, another team known for playing on the edge, into the mix and the stakes go even higher. The present-day Punisher was a member of the Savage Avengers, and now his futuristic counterpart will be involved with them as well, bringing an even harder edge to an already intense team. Punisher 2099 will provide Savage Avengers fans the hard-hitting mayhem that has become the team’s staple.
Pepose also did not state if Punisher 2099 would be ing the team, but with Marvel increasingly returning to the 2099 imprint, anything is possible. In the meantime, fans of Marvel’s forgotten Punisher can catch him in the next arc of Savage Avengers.
