Warning: Spoilers ahead for TVA #5!

Since the MCU's Scarlet Witch is dead. While there has been a lot of suspense surrounding the Scarlet Witch’s whereabouts, with the recent TVA series hinting at her possible return, the destiny of the MCU’s Wanda is sealed.

In TVA #5, written by Katharyn Blair, with art by Pere Pérez, Ghost-Spider frees a variant of Scarlet Witch from the TVA’s back rooms, one who eerily resembles the MCU’s Wanda Maximoff, despite having been crushed by Mount Wundagore. However, the villainous Fear Lord, Nightmare, emerges to tell Gwen that the TVA had found a timeline where the Scarlet Witch’s fate had ended differently, as he sought to recover her.

After three years of speculation, TVA #5 verifies that the MCU’s Scarlet Witch is no more. While the TVA’s variant of Scarlet Witch is confirmed not to be the MCU’s Wanda, Marvel gives a glimpse of an alternate variant of Wanda if she had survived, as well as the potential for the villain, Nightmare, to the MCU. With releases such as Avengers: Doomsday, which heavily incorporate Marvel’s Multiverse into the narrative, there is a high likelihood that fans will get to see some variant of the Scarlet Witch return.
