*Warning: This article contains spoilers for The School For Good and Evil*Sophie attends the School for Evil. They try to uncover the mistakes with their attendance at the Schools, but realize there is a much darker threat of the Evil Rafal (Kit Young), who founded the school with his Good brother Rhian.

The end of The School For Good and Evil seems to show Agatha and Sophie getting their happily ever after, until Tedros’s (Jamie Flatters) arrow pierces the vortex between the two worlds, closely followed by Rafal’s dagger. As Tedros’s arrow pierces the vortex, he can be heard saying “I need you Agatha,” which suggests their romance will continue, but because it is followed by Rafal’s dagger, it implies the threat of Rafal is not completely gone, and Tedros might be in danger. Rafal has faked his death before, but it was quite clear he dies from Agatha using Excalibur on him. It seems The School For Good and Evil 2 will continue the story from where The School For Good and Evil left off, and Rafal will definitely be seen again. It is just a question of how he will return in the sequel.

How Is Rafal Still Alive?

Kit Young; Rhian; Laurence Fishburne; The School Master

To stop Rafal completely destroying both schools, at the end of The School For Good and Evil, Agatha and Sophie worked together so Agatha could kill Rafal with Tedros’s Excalibur. It is evident that Rafal has died because the magic destroying the schools has stopped, and Rafal’s magic holding Tedros stops, and he is released. However, it is possible for someone to return from the dead, as Agatha proves with Sophie. When Sophie sacrifices herself to protect Agatha, at the end of The School For Good and Evil, Sophie uses true love's kiss to bring her back, as friendship is the truest form of love.

Rafal claimed Sophie was his true love, and it is obvious Sophie did not bring him back as she turns against him at the end of The School For Good and Evil. With the use of his blood magic, Rafal could have darker ways to return from the dead that aren’t known to the audience at this point. According to the second book of the series, A World Without Princes, Rafal has not quite returned from the dead but instead returned as a ghost. This is how he is able to stay a threat to Agatha and Sophie and have a chance of returning fully.

How Rafal's Dagger Sets Up School For Good & Evil 2

Rafal’s dagger following Tedros's arrow through the vortex means The School For Good and Evil is set up perfectly for a sequel. Agatha and Sophie will not have long in their happily ever after as they will undoubtedly be dragged back to the schools if Rafal is a threat again. Plus, Tedros calling for Agatha would suggest their romantic story is unfinished and this would need to be explored more in the School for Good and Evil sequel. The vortex being pierced, and Rafal’s dagger following, could mean their village of Gavaldon is at threat too so Agatha and Sophie may have no choice except to get involved.

What Happens In The School For Good & Evil Sequel Books

The School for Good and Evil

The second book in The School For Good and Evil, titled A World Without Princes, has already received some modifications from the movie version. For example, the Netflix adaptation has Tedros piercing the vortex between worlds, whereas in the books it is Agatha who does that in the sequel. However, this achieves the same goal, as in the second book Agatha secretly wishes for a different happy ending and wants to return to the school to be with Tedros. The school has changed in the sequel and is now the School for Boys and the School for Girls.

Agatha and Sophie are chased out of Gavaldon after threatening messages are sent for the return of Sophie. Many things have changed at the school, and Sophie changes back into her villainous ways, which hopefully means more of The School For Good and Evil's great songs and fashion in the sequel. She also tries to stop Agatha and Tedros from being together. The ghost of Rafal is brought back to life by the new dean of the School for Girls, Evelyn Sader, and he tries to reunite with his true love Sophie. Rafal’s attempt to kill Tedros forces Agatha and Tedros to flee, but Sophie stays with Rafal and the two girls become at war once again. The School For Good and Evil 2 continues the physical, and moral, battles of The School For Good and Evil, and Rafal’s dagger is the start of it all.
