Get a look at the first trailer for team-up animated movie Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Though everyone is excited about Batman’s return in the Scooby-Doo and Mystery Inc. to take on many of his longtime rivals in Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

As weird as it may sound, this actually is not the first time Batman and Scooby have crossed paths. Batman and Robin have helped Scooby and his friends solve mysteries in the old Scooby-Doo cartoons, and more recently they met in the Scooby-Doo Team-Up comics. So in a way Batman could call Scooby an old friend. Though it’s unclear if the movie will be taking their prior interactions into since the trailer shows a scene where Batman is surprised that Scooby can’t tell directions while driving.

The trailer, released by IGN, also shows that there will be a ton of other DC characters showing up in the mystery. On the side of the good guys there are familiar faces like Martian Manhunter, Black Canary, Aquaman, and Plastic Man among others. While the villains will include major antagonists like the Joker, Harley Quinn, Two-Face, Scarecrow, and Poison Ivy.

So it will definitely be a star-studded affair showing off the big names in Batman’s rogues gallery and some of his most famous allies. However, it appears the main villain may be someone neither Scooby nor Batman have encountered before as a flying red ghost can be seen in multiple scenes. Though in classic Scooby-Doo fashion, it also wouldn’t be surprising if the ghost was revealed to be someone the group encounters during the mystery but doesn’t know is the suspect.

Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold will be coming out directly to home release this January, so fans will be able to kick off 2018 with some more of the Dark Knight in their lives. Meanwhile Scooby-Doo fans should be used to these types of crossovers by now since Scooby and his friends have made a regular habit of it. In addition to teaming up with various heroes of DC Comics, Scooby has also solved mysteries with the wrestlers of the WWE, and will also be doing an animated crossover with Supernatural in season 13. So the Great Dane is always finding new mysteries to keep himself busy and is showing no signs of slowing down.

We will have to wait and see how this team-up compares with the previous adventures of Batman and Scooby, but they have been fun in the past, so Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold sounds like it will be a good time.
