League of Legends has been around since 2009 and is still going strong today, over 15 years later. The title has risen from being a spiritual successor of a fan-made Warcraft 3 map (which received a direct sequel in the form of DotA 2) to being a multi-million eSports empire.
The MOBA genre that League of Legends helped to define has since been populated by many more competitors, but not all have been successful. Now, a worthy new challenger has approached the MOBA arena. Seekers of Skyveil by Elodie Games is an up-and-coming hidden gem that's worth keeping an eye on for any fans of LoL and similar titles.
Seekers Of Skyveil Blends Two Thrilling Genres Into One
League of Legends Meets Escape From Tarkov
Seekers of Skyveil is a MOBA, or a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena Video Game, a genre that's easy to make but notoriously difficult to make well. MOBAs are defined by two teams made up of individual heroes that compete against each other to complete an objective. By all appearances, Seekers is one of those rare well-made MOBAs, of which there are only a handful of big titles.

This MOBA Solves The Problem Of Appealing To Beginners & Experts Alike: Predecessor Brawl & Aurora Preview
The Early Access MOBA Predecessor features deep gameplay with a new Hero and Brawl game mode, which is the most intense and welcoming mode yet.
On the surface, the game is very similar to League of Legends, following the same top-down style of fast-paced strategic combat. But Seekers of Skyveil does something interesting to shake up the gameplay to make it new and fresh. When teams enter the fray in the fantasy world of Skyveil, they'll need to make their way back out in one piece, too.
That's because Seekers of Skyveil adds an extraction element that's similar to Escape from Tarkov. Every match becomes a gamble, as players will either extract with the goods or die trying and lose the loot. The addition of extraction makes the game stand out from the rest and adds an element of fun that both LoL fans and Tarkov fans can enjoy.
The game already has 12 very in-depth heroes to choose from, called Seekers in the game, each bringing something new and unique to the table. Several other features add to the experience, including items found within maps that help build your character, a crafting system, and a shop to purchase more items to use in matches.
You Won't Have To Wait Long To Dive Headfirst Into Seekers Of Skyveil
A Free Demo Is Available As Part Of Steam Next Fest
The title from Elodie Games is an exciting new take on the MOBA genre thanks to its artful inclusion of the element of extraction. Players will have to work together and decide when to give in to the greed and when to call it quits. ScreenRant's Samantha Giambra-Plaisance describes the gameplay of Seekers of Skyveil after playing the demo and thoroughly enjoying it:
Players will dive into the PvPvE expedition in squads of up to three, facing off against rival Seekers around the map, defeating Aurastorm creatures, and traversing the expansive battlegrounds. Choosing whether to extract with what you have or hang around in hopes of better loot is a serious gamble, and this is what sets Seekers of Skyveil apart from the average MOBA.
A demo of Seekers of Skyveil was made available on Steam during Steam Next Fest 2025, with the full game set to launch on March 4. If you're a MOBA fan tired of the same formula being rehashed over and over, Seekers of Skyveil offers a refreshing new take on the genre.
