Sony has announced that certain PlayStation 4 games will see increased performance on the transfer their PS4 data over to their PS5.

One of the hardest parts of a new console generation is saying goodbye to the one that came before it. The PlayStation 4 has had many years to build up a loyal fanbase and expand a tremendous library of classic games. While the PS5 looks to boast some perfectly excellent games of its own, moving on is always hard. Fortunately, Sony has already announced that almost every single PS4 game will be playable on the PS5. There are only ten PS4 games the company has identified that definitively will not play on the PS5, and they're all rather obscure.

To further assuage fan concerns about the PS5's backward compatibility, Sony released a post on the Ghost of Tsushima has already been confirmed as one of the PS4 games that will take advantage of the PS5's hardware in this way.

Sony clearly has no interest in leaving the PlayStation 4 and its beloved library of games in the dust. Not only will select PS4 games enjoy this boost, but Sony has also announced the PS Plus Collection, which will give PS5 owners access to a considerable collection of high-quality PS4 games when the console launches. In the face of the considerable next-gen advantage competitor Microsoft has gained through the recent purchase of ZeniMax Media, Sony looks to be building success for the PlayStation 5 by working off the solid foundation it already has from the PS4.

This next-gen boost is great news for gamers. The PS4 had some truly excellent games, and there are sure to be a lot of console owners who are still racing to finish up their library in time for the launch of the PS5. With this new announcement, those fans can rest assured that not only will their favorite PS4 games stick around, some of them will become even better on the PlayStation 5.
