Ali Harper's Background

Ali Is From Tennessee

Ali Harper is 31, and originally from Tennessee. The Southern Bell has a background in pageantry and competed in Miss America in 2018 when she was 25. She finished in the top 10 in the national competition. Ali was introduced to Orange County because she was going back and forth visiting her boyfriend. She was looking for a career path and was connected with Polly Brindle after showing up to an open house and making a good impression. She was then introduced to Jason, who decided to give her a chance at becoming an O Group agent.

Who Is Ali Harper Dating?

Ali Is Engaged

Ali mentioned her boyfriend several times in Selling Sunset season 2, but she didn't make any mention of him in season 3. According to Ali's Instagram, she is dating a man named Lucas England. She just announced their engagement in a celebratory post in March 2024. Lucas first started appearing in Ali's Instagram photos in July 2021, so she was still with him during season 3.

Ali Harper's Real Estate Career

Ali Did Not Impress Jason Oppenheimer

When Jason allowed Ali to have a desk at the O Group, she was still not a licensed agent. She was meant to absorb as much knowledge as possible from the other agents, go to open houses, and get on-the-job experience to launch her career quickly and with all the tools she'd need. In Selling the OC season 3, Ali completed her required hours to apply to take her real estate license test in California. However, Ali dropped the ball several times and showed that she did not know real estate as much as she should have by then.

OC agent Gio Helou gave Ali the opportunity to facilitate his family home's open house in his absence. Ali failed to answer basic questions potential buyers had and did not leave a good impression. When Gio spoke to Jason about Ali's failure at the open house, Jason expressed his concern.

"She has not developed the experience that she have at this stage of the game. I shouldn't have people at the office that aren't prepared to hold an open house at the very least and don't have a basic understanding of real estate."

What's more troubling is that Ali thought she did a great job during the open house and talked herself up when Jason wanted to sit down with her and discuss her knowledge before he had the talk with Gio about the open house. Jason quickly brought Ali back to reality by asking her simple real estate knowledge questions she should know the answers to. Ali didn't know any of the answers and embarrassed herself. Jason was wholly unimpressed and told her she needed to step things up majorly because her chair was coveted and she needed to start producing.

Ali Harper's Selling The OC Drama

Ali Made Some Bad Impressions

In Selling the OC season 3. Ali also found herself in the middle of drama. Ali grew close to Kayla Cardona, Alexandra Jarvis, and Brandi Marshall in her time with The O Group. Kayla had historical issues with Alex Hall and things came to a head when it came out that Alex Hall did a podcast bashing Kayla and her mental health. Ali inserted herself into the drama and took Kayla's side. Ali escalated the issues that weren't hers during a broker's open and addressed Alex Hall.

In her confrontation, Alex dramatically knocked on the open house window trying to get Alexandra Rose's attention inside.

The action was unprofessional and made its way back to Polly, who got a message from a disgruntled title company employee, condemning Ali and any future working with her.

Ali put her reputation at stake in season 3 for drama that didn't even involve her. That, combined with her lack of industry knowledge, are all not good signs for her future in Selling the OC.

Selling The OC seasons 1-3 are available to stream on Netflix.
