The Sex Lives Of College Girls on HBO Max is a comedy series starring relative newcomers to show business. For the most part, the main cast has not been in any bigger projects, which may spark interest in fans' minds about who these young actors are.
There are certain things about this cast most people wouldn't know unless they went digging a little deeper. Considering the show has already been renewed for a second season, it's about time everyone learned something new about the cast.
Pauline Chalamet Is Timothée's Sister
Pauline Chalamet plays Kimberly on The Sex Lives of College Girls, and if her last name sounds familiar, it should. Her brother Timothée Chalamet has risen to the A-list of Hollywood actors with his roles in recent years, the more latest ones being the role of Laurie in Little Women and Paul Atreides in Dune, which has been nominated for Best Picture Oscar.
According to multiple interviews, they get along great, and Pauline has even said recently when asked if he's seen The Sex Lives that "He has, and he loved it." He also recently wished her a happy birthday in one of his Instagram posts, jokingly adding that the big 5-0 is not far.
The Cast Was Supposed To Include Dylan Sprouse
In 2020, news hit that Dylan Sprouse was returning to television in The Sex Lives of College Girls. He was supposedly already signed on, according to Variety, and was playing the role of Nico, Leighton's brother. Undoubtedly, he would make a great match as Leighton's sibling, and according to his Twitter post, he seemed excited to be back.
"Like any TV show, sometimes we just don't know exactly what the chemistry will be like between two performers until we get filming and we just had to make a change," Noble, the co-creator told Insider in an interview. Sprouse was replaced by Gavin Leatherwood, a Chilling Adventures of Sabrina alumnus.
Lolo Spencer Is An Instagram Influencer
Lauren "Lolo" Spencer, who portrays fan-favorite Jocelyn on The Sex Lives of College Girls, is a disability lifestyle influencer on Instagram, sharing her life with people after it was drastically impacted at the age of 14 when she was diagnosed with ASL.
"There wasn't a lot of people talking about disability lifestyles and our personal experiences. There really wasn't anyone giving the real deal," she said in an interview with CNN Health. And so she made her own deal, starting with more activity on social media. She also models for companies like Tommy Hilfiger and Adidas.
Renee Rapp Was In Mean Girls On Broadway
Before starring in The Sex Lives, Renee Rapp was best known for starring in the Broadway musical Mean Girls, a famous story about the new-kid trope, even going as far as winning a Jimmy Award for Best Performance in 2018 for her performance of Regina George. Sadly, due to COVID-19, the show closed and never reopened. Luckily for her fans, Rapp is back on screen where she belongs.
It would be interesting if her ability to sing could play a small role in the next season of The Sex Lives, though Leighton doesn't exactly strike as the type who would just randomly burst into song.
Amrit Kaur Almost Didn't Get The Role Of Bela
In an interview with Refinery29, Amrit Kaur itted that she auditioned knowing they only wanted to hire actors with an 0-1 visa, which she didn't have. She then got called back for a chemistry read, which was canceled when they found out she doesn't have the visa, so her agents had to convince everyone that they were able to get the visa for her.
Getting called for another audition, Kaur had a problem because her visa didn't go through on the first try. So the creators of the show, all the producers wrote letters to the government that Kaur is perfect for this part and nobody else could do it. Luckily for the audience, nobody can imagine Sex Lives without Bela Malhotra.
The First Day Of Filming Was Nothing Like The Cast Imagined
In an interview with Elle, the girls opened up about what it was like to begin filming in the middle of the pandemic. They reminisced about playing Uno on their first day, which proved to be challenging because they were required to remain 6 feet apart. If they'd get too close, someone on set would bring out a measuring stick and they'd have to scoot back.
Kaur also itted that her competitive nature made her crawl on the floor because she wanted to get Uno so bad. Alyah Chanelle Scott still re, "I will never forget actually watching you crawl in like a spider. She has the strongest knees." No matter the challenging nature of their bonding activities, it still seems they had a lot of fun.

Emmy-Nominated Actress
While most of the actors are complete newbies when it comes to bigger acting projects, there is a face in the cast that fans might from the recent success of Lily, one of the most intelligent characters on Dash & Lily, she's a perfect fit for Alicia.
A daughter of the Indiana University Northwest 7th chancellor, Midori Iwama (now going as Francis) has also received a Drama Desk and Obie Award for the Pulitzer Prize-nominated play "The Wolves" along with another Drama Desk nomination for her performance in "Usual Girls."
