There's no doubt that Fiona Gallagher (Emmy Rossum) is the heart and soul of the Shameless. The proof comes in knowing the show will come to a conclusion in her absence once season 11 ends. Sure, the entire Gallagher gang is full of sympathetic characters, but without Fiona leading the way, it doesn't feel the same.

Part of Fiona's appeal is her unique fashion sense, which alters quite a bit with the seasonal whims of Windy City, Chicago. In the summer, Fiona rocks shorts and sandals, but in the winter she's all bundled up like Ralphie's little brother. To get to the bottom of this dilemma, here are the best and worst of her outfits!

Wedding Dress (Good)

Few outfits look as pure, innocent and overall beautiful than that of a wedding dress. When Fiona gets engaged to Sean in the season 6 finale, she is able to don the gorgeous white veil and flowing white gown. Unfortunately, like almost everything in Fiona's life, the marriage fell apart.

When Frank is late to his own daughter's wedding to walk her down the aisle, he begins berating all of the guests, including his own family. One truism he spouts is that Sean is a heroin addict, prompting the end of the marriage before it began.

Prison Garb (Bad)

Diametrically opposed to a light and dainty wedding dress is the thick, dark, heavy piece prison attire Fiona is forced to wear in Season 4.

Seriously, there is nothing becoming about an oversized tan jumper with grungy long-sleeves. Fiona does her best to wear it gracefully, but she can't quite overcome the criminal connotations and unhygienic stigma prison attire brings. Fortunately, Fiona is released due to overcrowding, itself a statement on the nature of Chicago's growing crime rate.

Black Mini-Skirt White Blouse (Good)

During one of her booze-fueled nights out with her best friend and neighbor V (Shanola Hampton), Fiona can be spotted wearing a super-sexy little number that she isn't afraid to get roll around in and get dirty.

As you can see, Fiona rock a little black miniskirt, silver belt and lacy, see-through white blouse with all sorts of confidence. She feels so comfortable in the outfit that she willingly lays down on the bar and lets V pour shots down her taut figure.

Bra & Gym Shorts (Bad)

While it's a sexy look in certain regards, there's simply something too dumpy, frumpy, and unbecoming about Fiona rocking a bra and dirty grey gym shorts, even if just on her front porch. It's just not a good look!

Indeed, Fiona's facial expression mirrors the rest of her outfit. She looks out of it, confused, careless, and downright despondent. Is she a standup lead member of the Gallagher clan or she a Tallahassee road-runner? Tough to tell in this outfit, ay?!

Sexy Black Dress (Good)

Throughout the entirety of Shameless, Fiona has worn a number of sexy black little dresses that would turn any man or woman's head in a millisecond. But the one the stands out the most and looks the best on her is this lacy little satin number with a black floral print over a see-through collar.

What makes the dress pop so hard on Fiona is the special occasion in which she gussies up. Fiona usually rocks grungy attire at home, but when she is afforded the chance to go out on the town, she cleans up nice!

Holy Sweater & Jeans (Bad)

Fiona is apparently auditioning for a Nirvana cover-band in the shot seen here. With a giant hole on the elbow of her knit-sweater, the only thing worse is a wrinkled black V-neck underneath and a pair of crusty old jeans.

Fiona rocks this look quite often, so you could really nominate any permutation of the grungy jeans, tattered shirts, misfitting overcoat motif. Here in Season 3, Fiona's own attire aptly reflects the moldering walls of her home, proving these fashion choices are socioeconomic ones over personal preference.

Red Dress (Good)

fionared

This just in: Emmy Rossum is smoking hot in the color red. Shameless producers know this full well, giving Fiona a few choice instances to showcase her peerless nature as a lady in red!

In one instance, she wooed the pants right off of her then boy-toy Steve (Justin Chatwin) in a stunning red and black dress. During another instance in Season 7, Fiona rocks an even sultrier satin red gown that flows all the way to her feet. Simply spectacular!

 Overalls (Bad)

There's nothing alluring about Fiona donning a pair of filth-ridden overalls as if she were a long-lost member of The Beverly Hillbillies. And yet, at the beginning of her fashion arc, she did just that!

While trying to help Frank retrieve large quantities of drugs hidden in a coffin, the entire Gallagher gang s in. Fiona leads the charge, getting the dirtiest as layers of dirt adorn her ragged overalls and crumpled white T-shirt underneath.

Black Leather & Heels (Good)

fionagood4

You'd be hard-pressed to find a better look on Fiona than a tight black miniskirt, sexy black leather jacket, and a pair of black pumps to round out the fit!

Gone are the days of tattered, ill-fitting second-hand clothing. Here Fiona looks like a fashion model as she's finally come into some financial success and can afford the nicer things in life. She even outshines V, who is the number one fashion queen on the show. Tough act to follow!

Parkas (Bad)

fionaparka

Through no real fault of her own, Fiona is subjected to the harsh winters of South Side Chicago. As such, Fiona spends half of her time in ratty parkas, oversized jackets, dirty camo-gear, and other unbecoming articles of clothing.

The stuffy winter attire is made most stark in opposition to the skimpy summer wardrobe Fiona often showcases. One season she's in her underwear poolside, the next season she's looking to scale the Alps. Consider this one sweeping, all-inclusive dig on Fiona's entire winter wardrobe. No Bueno!
