Warning! Spoilers for Shang-Chi #6 by Marvel Comics

As distrust builds between the Avengers and Shang-Chi, the superteam just unleashed Thor against the hero and his Five Weapons Society. However, Shang-Chi just used a mighty sword that's essentially his version of Mjolnir, as it can go blow-for-blow with Thor's powerful hammer. Although, readers of Shang-Chi #6 eventually learn there's a big difference between Thor and Shang-Chi's weapons.

In the current Shang-Chi series at Marvel Comics, the Avengers don't trust their fellow hero after believing he stole the Cosmic Cube from them during a recent mission. However, Shang-Chi has no idea that his own brother stole the powerful cosmic artifact from the Avengers - leading to a war breaking out between Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Shang-Chi and the Five Weapons Society. While one might believe Shang-Chi would be somewhat unequipped to fight the literal God of Thunder, in Shang-Chi #6, he holds his own against Thor thanks to the Ten-Fist Sword.

In Shang-Chi #6 by Gene Luen Yang, Dike Ruan, Triona Farrell, and VC's Travis Lanham, Shang-Chi is visited by the Avengers. They tell the leader of the Five Weapons Society that if he doesn't surrender the Cosmic Cube, they will tear his home down "brick by brick" until it's found. When Shang-Chi asks Brother Sabre if there's any truth behind what they're saying, he's told they are liars. Shang-Chi attacks the Avengers, but after they are surrounded by the Five Weapons Society warriors, Iron Man calls in Thor. Thor makes quick work of Shang-Chi's warriors, leading Brother Sabre to throw him the Ten-Fist sword, turning Shang-Chi into his own God of Thunder.

Shang-Chi Mjolnir Marvel Comics

Shang-Chi gets his own Thor-like transformation as his sword fends off attacks from Mjolnir. The two God of Thunders engage in an epic battle. However, after Thor knocks the sword out of his hands, Shang-Chi soon realizes that everything he's seeing is a ruse. He asks Brother Sabre if he still possesses the Cosmic Cube and is told he does. Shang-Chi soon realizes the sword and his transformation was all created by the reality-altering Cosmic Cube. He stops fighting the Avengers and gives them the much-desired artifact.

Seeing Shang-Chi become the God of Thunder and hold his own one-on-one against Thor was incredibly epic. But, Shang-Chi's entire transformation and own version of Mjolnir was just a mirage created by the Cosmic Cube. While it's a bummer Shang-Chi won't keep the powers and weapon the Cosmic Cube granted him, it was still fun to see him take on Thor and surprise the hero with his own incredible weapon. Shang-Chi #6 is in comic book stores now.
