Shark Tank season 16 has been an intense season with some of the main Sharks moving in and out of the spotlight, it's become hard to ignore that some of their difficult behavior both on and off screen. Throughout the run of Shark Tank, viewers have gotten to know the Sharks, but understand when it's time to let them go.

As Shark Tank season 16 has continued on, viewers have been acutely aware that this is the last season Mark Cuban will be appearing on the show, but there have been issues with other Sharks cropping up all season long. With Barbara Corcoran, Robert Herjavec, Kevin O'Leary, Daymond John, Lori Greiner, and Daniel Lubetzky rounding out the main Sharks, there have been quite a few guest Sharks this season taking main slots from episode to episode. Although big changes are coming to Shark Tank already, I think Daymond's performance this season has warranted his removal from the popular long-running series.

With Sharks like Mr. Wonderful are usually always displaying their big personalities, Daymond's been a shell of himself this season.

Daymond Hasn't Been An Enthusiastic Participant

He's Been Low-Energy All Season

Although Daymond hasn't been the biggest part of the Shark Tank throughout Shark Tank season 16, the time he has spent with his fellow Sharks hasn't been the most memorable. Throughout the current season of the series, Daymond has struggled to be the big personality he has in the past. While he's not always going to be at his highest energy, Daymond's been quieter than ever before, more reserved, and generally confusing to watch during his episodes this season. With Sharks like Mr. Wonderful are usually always displaying their big personalities, Daymond's been a shell of himself this season.

Seeing how quiet Daymond has been, and how low-energy he's seemed through the few episodes of Shark Tank he's appeared on, it feels possible that he's becoming less interested in appearing on the series. Throughout the first several seasons of Shark Tank, Daymond was one of the more enthusiastic Sharks who often brought their ideas to the table and shared their genuine thoughts, no matter how harsh they may be. Despite knowing that he was going to potentially get some backlash, Daymond stayed true to himself, but the show doesn't seem to be as interesting to the once-enthusiastic Shark anymore.

Although Daymond's been able to move forward in its aftermath, there's still some backlash against him for his controversy surrounding his deal with Bubba’s Q Boneless Ribs. After making a deal with Daymond, the business owners went to the press to allege he'd revised the deal with a lower stake in the company, which made their dealings more difficult. While Daymond countered their statements, he also filed a restraining order against the business owners, arguing that they broke contract by defaming him in the press. While Daymond wasn't necessarily at fault, the controversy's caused some mistrust in his character overall.

Guest Shark Emma Grede Could Take Daymond's Spot

She Would Round Out The

After Daymond's controversy and his lack of enthusiasm on Shark Tank season 16, I think it's time to bring in someone new to replace him as a main Shark. While Emma Grede isn't new to the series, having appeared as a guest Shark for the last few years, her mark on the show has been remarkable. Emma, the co-founder of Good American and partnering founder of Skims, has become an aspirational figure in the business world. Diversifying the with Emma, a business-savvy woman of color, would be an asset to Shark Tank's future, and allow Daymond to move on.

Shark Tank airs Fridays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
