Warning! Spoilers ahead for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 5.The biggest and best moment in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 5 — a scene teasing the arrival of Daredevil on the show — was ruined by a prior reveal from Disney's marketing department. Had audiences not already known that the character was set to make an appearance in the series, this moment could have been a major source of excitement and hype for an otherwise uneventful episode.

In She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 5, Jennifer Walters battles the super-powered social media influencer Titania in court. Having copyrighted the name "She-Hulk" out of spite, Titania introduces a new line of beauty products branded with that moniker. The only other thing that happens in the episode, plot-wise, is the introduction of a fashion designer specializing in superhero costumes. Jen commissions him to make her some new work clothes that will stretch whenever she transforms into a Hulk, and he also creates for her what seems to be a superhero outfit.

The most exciting thing about She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 5 comes at the end with the reveal that Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil, is one of the fashion designer's clients. With his crime-fighting garb appearing on a rack and his masked helmet inside a box marked for pickup, Matt Murdock either ordered a new costume or required some repairs, resulting in the Daredevil suit's new yellow coloring. However, the character's imminent arrival and new style were already known about, with the vigilante having been featured in almost all of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's trailers and much of its promotional material. Had he been kept a secret until this episode, the helmet reveal would have been much bigger and far more exciting. Instead, it falls flat in the absence of Matt Murdock himself.

While keeping Matt Murdock a surprise would have made the scene far more exciting, it's understandable that Disney decided to jump the gun and reveal Daredevil's role while promoting She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. With Jennifer Walters being such a new superhero, the studio needed to reveal that a hugely anticipated character such as Daredevil was returning to the MCU within this series, as the new would generate a guaranteed degree of excitement. Daredevil being in She-Hulk helps encourage viewers to try something new as they experience a very different kind of show from anything that has ever been seen before from Marvel Studios.

While that all makes sense from a business perspective, the marketing reveal of Daredevil still butchered the show's narrative capabilities to have what could have been an amazing surprise at the end of the episode. While She-Hulk does win her legal fight over her name, and her new super-suit is teased, that is all that happens in the brief installment of the series. Revealing an appearance from Daredevil for the first time would have been the saving grace for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 5. Instead, Disney and Marvel Studios ruined the moment for the sake of promoting the show.
