Show cancellations are par for the course on television. Unless it's The Simpsons or Survivor, not every series can go on forever! Jokes aside, there are plenty of show cancellations each season, some that come abruptly, much to the dismay of fans and creators who aren't given the chance to wrap up the story. But others are actually planned. The Crown, for example, has made clear that the series will only run for six seasons, with the final one likely airing sometime in 2023. Breaking Bad purposely ended when it was on top, simply because the story had to come to a logical end.
