Screen Rant is excited to present an exclusive clip from this week's episode of Shrinking. The Apple TV+ comedy drops new episodes every Friday, with episode 7 of season 1 being titled "Apology Tour." The series follows How I Met Your Mother star Jason Segel as a therapist who is himself going through a grieving period. After the death of his wife, Jimmy finds himself losing his grip on his career as well as on his role as a parent to teenage daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell), until he starts changing how he approaches his therapy sessions.

Thankfully, Jimmy doesn't have to go through this mid-life crisis alone. Shrinking also stars screen legend Harrison Ford as his boss Paul, who is always willing to lend an ear even if his responses tend towards the more cutting. There is also his colleague Gaby (acclaimed comedian Jessica Williams) whose is invaluable, and his neighbor Liz (Christa Miller, Scrubs) who considers herself a second mother to Alice.

What To Expect From Shrinking Season 1, Episode 7

In Screen Rant's exclusive clip from this week's Shrinking, the focus is on Paul and his neurological appointment. Said neurologist is Dr. Julie Baram (played by Wendie Malick, Young Sheldon), who knows exactly how to tease Paul and take his acerbic jokes in turn. The lighthearted banter is interrupted, however, by the mention of Paul's "freezing." When his daughter Meg (Lily Rabe) expresses concern, Dr. Baram explains how the meds are working and leaves them to discuss. Paul's health may be the highest priority, but nearly as important is the fact that Meg can feel the chemistry between them.

Elsewhere in "Apology Tour," the lead characters embark on exactly what the title implies. While Paul is still trying to make up for decades of less-than-perfect parenting with Meg, Jimmy is trying to mend fences with his own daughter in real-time. After a particularly wild party at his house in which he and Gaby ended up sleeping together, he finds he has several messes to clean. Finally, Liz and Sean (Luke Tennie), Jimmy's patient-turned-friend, discover they have something in common.

Shrinking has created a nuanced and bittersweet look at grief over the course of its debut season, showcasing the strengths of Bill Lawrence's storytelling. Similar to Ted Lasso, which he and co-creator Brett Goldstein are also an important part of, Shrinking knows exactly when to bring the tears as well as the laughter.
