British comedian and actor Brett Goldstein is set to feature in Shrinking season 2. Created by the trio of Bill Lawrence, Jason Segel, and Goldstein, the Apple TV+ comedy-drama follows Jimmy Laird, a troubled and grieving therapist who has to juggle his professional and personal responsibilities after his wife's death. Following a critically acclaimed season that earned notable awards and nominations, Apple TV+ announced that Shrinking will return for season 2.

Now, according to The Wrap, Brett Goldstein, who famously played Roy Kent in Ted Lasso, has been confirmed to guest star in the Shrinking season 2. Even though details of his role are still being kept under wraps for now, this is his first return to acting following his break-out in the sports comedy drama.

What Else Do We Know About Shrinking Season 2

With Shrinking season 2 confirmed, most of the show’s cast will likely reprise their respective roles. This includes Segel and Harrison Ford, who play Jimmy Laird and Dr. Paul Rhoades, respectively, along with Jessica Williams, who plays Gaby. Other notable cast like Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Luke Tennie are also all expected to return, and, likely, the new season will also feature a couple of new faces.

In the Shrinking season 1 finale, one of Paul's clients, Grace (Heidi Gardner), pushes her abusive partner off a cliff after hearing constant insults while hiking. This came after misinterpreting Paul's advice to no longer take his abuse. Season 1 saw Paul use an unethical form of therapy where he told his clients exactly what he was thinking, and the fallout from Grace's actions will have to be dealt with in season 2.

Given Goldstein's history with Lawrence on Ted Lasso, and being a co-creator on Shrinking, it does not come as a surprise that he will be ing the cast in a guest-starring role. Given how beloved his turn as Roy Kent is, it will be interesting to see the actor in a new role and how different he may be from that character. Shrinking season 2, does not have a release date. However, if the production follows a pattern similar to season 1, it could come in later in 2024.
