Shrinking Season 2 Will Have To Address A Big Cliffhanger
There Are Personal & Professional Stakes Ahead
For a lighthearted show, albeit one that is still outwardly emotional, the Shrinking season 1 finale takes a fairly dark turn. In the closing scene, Grace (Heidi Gardner) pushes her abusive boyfriend off a cliff. In a sense, it serves as a long payoff for Jimmy's questionable tactics as a therapist. As he's told by Paul, he is alternatively too involved with his patients or too distracted. The latter approach, in Grace's case, might just mean a character's death and Grace's life getting ruined.
The show did feature relatively lighter stakes, like the the burgeoning relationship that Jimmy is developing with fellow therapist Gaby (played by Williams). There's also Paul's efforts to date again and make amends with his daughter Meg (played by Lily Rabe), a thread that will likely continue into the episodes.

Ted Lasso Star’s New Role Will Make Waiting For Season 4’s Fate A Little Easier
Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein's new role is bound to be a crowd-pleaser and will make waiting to see if Ted Lasso season 4 happens a little easier.
But more than any individual storyline, Shrinking season 1 stood out thanks to the skill and chemistry of a cast that could mix and match with just about any of its actors. That's confirmed to increase as well, with co-creator and two-time Emmy-winning Roy Kent actor Brett Goldstein boarding season 2 in a mystery role. It adds another level of intrigue to the series' second outing.
