What This Means For Shrinking Season 2

Jimmy Faces Consequences While Doubling Down On His Approach

Shrinking season 2's trailer shows that Jimmy will be forced to deal with the fallout of Grace's actions, and he is still trying to help her. Despite Grace taking his advice too far and the consequences this yielded, Jimmy does not seem to relent in his approach to therapy, as seen when he takes one of his patients to his daughter's school. The boundaries between his professional and personal life continued to be blurred, much to Paul's chagrin.

More Tia flashbacks are seen as well, confirming she will continue to have a presence in the show

Much of this is still rooted in Tia's death, with Paul warning Jimmy what will happen if he does not deal with his past. More Tia flashbacks are seen as well, confirming she will continue to have a presence in the show. Other key Shrinking characters are shown to still be playing prominent roles in season 2, including Jimmy and Paul's colleague, Gaby (Jessica Williams), Jimmy's patient, Sean (Luke Tennie), and Jimmy's next-door-neighbor Liz (Christa Miller), and her husband Derek (Ted McGinley).

Our Take On The Shrinking Season 2 Trailer

Season 2 Continues What Season 1 Did Best

Christa Miller As Liz & Ted McGinley As Derek, smiling as always, in Shrinking

Despite the dark turn that Shrinking season 1's finale took, season 2 appears to be tonally similar to the first season as it leans most heavily into comedy, even while dealing with serious issues. It is intriguing to get a glimpse of Goldstein's character, although the series is still preserving the mystery of who his character will be. Shrinking season 2 looks like it will continue to be a hilarious and heartfelt story grounded by compelling performances from Segel, Ford, and the rest of the talented cast.
