Fox's animated sitcom The Simpsons has had some shocking moments in the past, but these 25 deleted scenes took the show a step too far. Created by Matt Groening, The Simpsons has been on the air since 1989 and continues to tell the stories of Homer, Madge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie Simpson. Over the years, The Simpsons has not been afraid to push the boundaries of what viewers will accept, but has typically done so at a family friendly level.
The series doesn't normally rely on an abundance of profanity or crude jokes to keep audiences entertained, and rather uses situational humor and the usual TV-PG rating to draw audiences in. This has allowed the show to continue to find new gags to throw at viewers and do so with plenty of creativity. While they are usually successful, not every one was suitable to air.

In the latest Screen Rant video, we take a look at 25 deleted scenes from The Simpsons that went too far and never made it to air. Some of these scenes were cut due to their violent implications, such as Bart shooting Santa Claus, while others made fun of mental health. Check out the full list in the video featured at the top of this post.
While it is easy to see how some could have taken offense with some of these scenes, the good news is that they were recognized as being inappropriate before making it to air, and not after. The Simpsons just recently decided to Homer and Marge having some alone time, and it looks like we could've had one more instance of this if all of these scenes weren't cut.
Since Fox has already renewed The Simpsons for celebrating the partnership in a unique way in the meantime. Since The Simpsons will still remain on Fox for the foreseeable future, hopefully it won't change too much from what fans have come to expect.
