A player of Sim die after learning of a pregnancy.
Death has been a mainstay feature of The Sims franchise, with each new iteration of the game offering new and bizarre ways for Sims to meet with the Grim Reaper and end their time in this realm. While The Sims 4 has gotten rid of the classic death-by-removing-the-pool-ladder, the title has introduced lots of other sudden death mechanics, including the possibility for Sims to die while using a Murphy bed. When a Sim dies, they're met with the fan-favorite NPC, the Grim Reaper, and while the character is typically a figure of doom and gloom, with the help of mods and cheats, Sims fans have romanced the Grim Reaper and even had children with him.
Redditor and Sims 4 player wybiek's screenshot shows their Sim may have predicted their own death with an eerie painting. The 's Sim is seen laying on the ground with the Grim Reaper hovering nearby, but a recently-completed painting still on an easel shows a sleeping cat in a position that mirrors that of the dead Sim. While the painting isn't too ominous on its own, with the deceased Sim lying nearby, it's certainly a creepy yet funny coincidence.
While the chilling painting certainly looks like the Sim knew they'd meet with death, the game's AI isn't quite yet at that level. The Sims 4 regularly adds new content with Kits and expansions, but the Sims themselves don't seem to evolve too much outside of learning new interactions and animations. It's hoped that The Sims 5, which is rumored to be in development, might offer deeper Sim experiences and interactions, and as events are queued up in the game, it's entirely possible that future Sims could "predict" their own ing.
wybiek's hilarious Sims 4 post proves there's still lots of fun to be had in the 2014 game, even years on from its release. The title is kept fresh with new content drops and gameplay tweaks, but lots of the game's appeal comes from the Sims themselves and the strange situations they can get themselves in. The player's Sim is in no position to befriend The Sims 4's Grim Reaper, but the funny coincidence makes it easy to imagine the duo have been planning this for some time.
