Summary

  • The Sims 4: Lovestruck expansion offers wild and never-ending dates, leading to quirky interactions and sweet moments.
  • Players share experiences of Sims extending dates for over 30 in-game hours, forming unexpected relationships.
  • The expansion adds drama with a dating app, allowing Sims to match with neighbors and even characters from player galleries.

One of the most anticipated DLCs for Maxis' beloved life sim, the romance-themed add-on focuses on overhauling The Sims 4's dating experience by providing players with more interactions than ever before. While that's led to some sweet moments and the occasional strange partner, one player managed to woo a Sim so well that the NPC simply didn't want the night to end.

Posted to Reddit by sunflowerdruid, the player shared their experience of going out with a besotted Sim who continually asked to extend the date, culminating in an outing that lasted over 30 in-game hours.

It's certainly a fun bug, one that's been experienced by a handful of other players, but Professional-Yam601 took the anecdote to the next level. They share that on their Sim's first date, they had their first kiss, became engaged, and moved in together with their partner before he walked out due to feeling "unsatisfied in the relationship."

Attraction in The Sims 4: Lovestruck is vital for building romantic relationships with other Sims, and is determined by your Turn-Ons & Turn-Offs.

Lovestruck Is All About The Drama

Who Doesn't Like Causing Trouble For Their Sims?

While a premade Sim asking to extend a date for over 30 hours does sound like a bug, other Sims 4 players have noted that Celene does have a tendency to fall in love quickly. Another noted that Celene convinced their Sim to skip work to spend more time together on a date before eventually proposing on their third outing. Some have complained that the glitch is fun but it can quickly become frustrating because leaving a date prematurely has a high chance of upsetting the involved Sim.

Lovestruck continues to provide the romantic drama that's Shrek and Captain Jack Sparrow.

The Sims 4 has Lovestruck which arrived at a point when audiences were beginning to grow tired with Maxis' games. With the future of The Sims 5 seemingly up in the air, players may need to settle for even more expansions for the foreseeable future. If they deliver the kind of quality content seen in Lovestruck, that should hardly be a problem.
