a real comic series that debuted in 2018. If the MCU ever decides to adapt the title, of course, it would look much different.

Thor's chemistry with the rest of the Guardians made fans hope that an Asgardians of the Galaxy movie is on the way, but that doesn't appear to be in the cards right now. The God of Thunder will return to the big screen in 2021 via Thor: Love and Thunder, leading many to wonder what his future with the Guardians is. And Liu, one of the newest of the Marvel family (he was confirmed as Shang-Chi during San Diego Comic-Con last month) can be counted among those rooting for it to happen.

On Twitter, Liu shared a photo of himself wearing an Asgardians of the Galaxy shirt. Check it out for yourself in the space below:

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was supposed to film this year, with an assumed release date of 2020. But due to the unceremonious firing of James Gunn, the film was pushed back. Now that Gunn is rehired, the film will happen, but later than initially expected. Both Shang-Chi and who predicted his casting as Shang-Chi. On the other hand, this could be completely innocuous. Liu is a fan of comic books, and he could just be showing his fandom off.

It is also not above Marvel to throw out red herrings. Shortly after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was released, Avengers: Infinity War began shooting. Michael Rooker was seen near the set with an Avengers hat on, to quell the rumors that his character died in Vol 2. This was a misdirect by Marvel, and it created enough speculation to give doubt to some. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Asgardians of the Galaxy, but that's still a long ways off (Gunn is making The Suicide Squad for DC at the moment). One thing is for sure though: A movie with Liu, Chris Hemsworth and the Guardians cast would offer some wildly entertaining possibilities.
