Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow's Milly Alcock, Oscar winner Julianne Moore, Emmy nominee Kevin Bacon and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Glenn Howerton.
With just under a month remaining until the show's premiere, Netflix has released the first official Sinners trailer. The video introduces audiences to Fahy's Devon as she looks for her sister at a luxury beachside resort owned by socialite Michaela Kell, discovering that her sister seems to be indoctrinated in her cult-like lifestyle and tries to get her out, especially on the heels of their father's dementia diagnosis. Check out the trailer below:
What The Trailer Means For Sirens
An Emotional & Darkly Humorous Ride Is Ahead
For fans of Fahy, the Sirens trailer may immediately draw parallels to her breakout work in HBO's The White Lotus, with both shows taking a darkly humorous, yet serious, approach to exploring the upper class. Unlike Daphne in season 2, though, the Netflix series looks to be positioning Fahy on the other side of the fold, in which she detests socialites like Moore's Michaela Kell, and worries about her influence over her sister, particularly with the removal of things like their shared sister tattoo.
As for Alcock, Sirens marks an interesting deviation from her breakout work on HBO's House of the Dragon, having starred as the young version of Rhaenyra. Much like Fahy, Alcock became an instant breakout star, though the Netflix series marks only one of three projects she's made since the Game of Thrones prequel, with the other two being James Gunn's Superman reboot and the in-production Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, playing the titular DC Universe hero. With the show being one of the most grounded projects in her filmography, Sirens looks to be offering Alcock the chance to showcase her acting range.

What House Of The Dragon Reveals About Milly Alcock's Supergirl (& Why She's Perfect For Gunn's DCU)
House of the Dragon's Milly Alcock has been cast in the main role of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow - here are the reasons she's the perfect pick.
One notable takeaway from the Sirens trailer is how the show is depicting Michaela's cult-like lifestyle. As indicated by the taxi driver Devon talks with at the start of the trailer, the surrounding town knows of the resort and her unorthodox beliefs, while the staff that work with Simone also seem to not be as invested as she is. With Kevin Bacon's character, Peter, also appearing to be somewhat uncertain about his wife, Devon may find herself with multiple allies to save her sister and bring Michaela down.
Our Take On The Sirens Trailer
A Fresh Chance To Satirize The Rich
The past few years have really seen a boom in movies and shows tackling the "eat the rich" theme, whether it's the intimate characters of The White Lotus or the gory absurdity of A24's Death of a Unicorn. Sirens clearly looks to be aiming for the former in of its scale and premise, but the trailer looks to have just enough suspicious activity going on with Michaela's other followers that I find myself intrigued as to whether Devon will ultimately fall under her spell, or successfully repel it and save her sister.
Sirens premieres on Netflix on May 22.
