Generation Alpha is on its way to inheriting the Earth as Scholastic teams with Invisible Narratives to bring stories based on the animated phenomenon Skibidi Toilet stories to young readers. Skibidi Toilet began as a single video by Alexey Gerasimov, aka Boom!, that took off in 2023 and quickly evolved into a zeitgeist-defining digital series. In the series, an alien species of mechanized toilet hybrids known as Skibidi Toilets is bent on eradicating humanity, which is being defended by humanoid warriors with cameras, speakers, and TV screens for heads.

ScreenRant is excited to break the news about Scholastic’s partnership with Invisible Narratives, which will encom novels, graphic novels, and other published materials. The partnership continues a groundbreaking winning streak for the franchise, which has also included the announcement that Michael Bay is making a Skibidi Toilet movie. The first Scholastic Skibidi Toilet release will come this summer in the form of a young adult eBook novel.

Scholastic’s Commitment To Skibidi Toilet Is A Smart Move For The Publisher

Skibidi Toilet can be a hard sequence of words for other generations to hear, but in fairness, Scholastic’s Animorphs books likely confused some parents of that series’ millennial fanbase when they were released (fingers crossed for good news about the Animorphs movie). As outlandish as its title and style is, Skibidi Toilet still captures the imaginations of its audience in real ways. Scholastic’s Debra Dorfman said the following about the franchise:

Debra Dorfman: We are beyond thrilled to be the publishing partner for one of the most groundbreaking and unique properties of our time— a true cultural phenomenon that resonates with readers of all ages. It’s an extraordinary opportunity to be part of a frenetic, unpredictable, funny and sometimes unsettling narrative that has sparked conversations and imaginations throughout global media and across generations. I can’t wait to help bring this powerful narrative to even more fans around the world through our books.

Putting Scholastic’s power behind Skibidi Toilet also allows parents conscious of their kids’ screen time to guide them away from devices while letting them engage with content they enjoy. In addition to the Skibidi Toilet movie, there are countless hours’ worth of original- and -generated content about the franchise on YouTube and other platforms. Putting a version of it in book form allows for new opportunities for parents and children alike. Invisible Narratives founder and CEO Adam Goodman had this to say:

Adam Goodman: What Boom! created with Skibidi Toilet is a true phenomenon—completely unconventional, wildly entertaining, and impossible to ignore. Scholastic is the perfect partner to channel that energy into books that will engage and surprise fans. This is about pushing creator-driven franchises beyond their original platforms and reaching new audiences in unexpected ways. Skibidi has taken off in gaming and video, and publishing is the next natural step as fans look for new ways to explore its world beyond the screen.

Scholastic will also be offering Skibidi Toilet stories in media beyond physical books. The franchise will encom ebooks, audiobooks and other audio formats, and graphic novels. It’s difficult to imagine that Skibidi Toilet creator Gerasimov could have imagined the incredible and quick growth of the franchise, but the animator is likely chanting “Skibidi dop dop dop yes yes” with glee.

Scholastic will begin releasing Skibidi Toilet stories this summer.
