The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition offers players a variety of items previously exclusive to the Creation Club. One of those items is the legendary greatsword Chrysamere, a unique weapon that boosts the character's defense. Players will be able to obtain it in the large Nordic ruin of Forelhost or by purchasing it from the Creation Club.

In The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, players could obtain the Chrysamere sword by buying it from the Creation Club. This Club, which functioned as an in-game cash shop, offered this weapon, among other content, in exchange for Creation Club Credits, which could be bought with real-life currency. Like all other Creation Club content, Chrysamere has been included in the Skyrim Anniversary Edition.

To obtain the Chrysamere, players must complete the Lost Paladin quest. However, players should be aware that Forelhost is also the Siege of the Dragon Cult quest site. This may result in the players having to fight multiple strong opponents simultaneously, as both Captain Valmir and Skyrim Anniversary Edition's exclusive NPC will be very close to each other.

Getting The Chrysamere Sword in Skyrim Anniversary Edition

Skyrim Anniversary Edition: How to Get the Chrysamere Sword

To obtain the Chrysamere Sword, players will most likely have to run through the whole dungeon of Forelhost. However, using some clever tricks and jumps on the exterior walls makes it possible to reach the Battlements directly from the outside. There, players will find the Lost Paladin, a Skyrim NPC who wields and drops the Anniversary Edition version of the Chrysamere Sword.

Otherwise, players must go through the Exterior into the Stronghold and find the Crypt. Following the tunnels will eventually lead to the Refectory, where there will be a puzzle. After solving the puzzle door, players will need to fight an NPC named Rahgot and four Draugr. Looting Rahgot will provide the mask for the Siege of the Dragon Cult quest and the key to the Battlements.

Once in the Battlements, players will find the Lost Paladin near the World Wall, where players can get the Storm Call shout. Players should avoid dropping down further into the battlements before handling the Lost Paladin, as it may trigger Captain Valmir and another enemy to attack. Looting the Lost Paladin will reward players with the Chrysamere, a greatsword that provides a 15% resistance to fire, absorbs 10% magic damage, and slowly regenerate health during combat.

The Chrysamere, also known as the Paladin Blade, is unlike most weapons as it provides a defensive buff. When equipped, it will bestow a visual aura identical to one of the Skyrim's races' exclusive abilities, the Breton's Dragonskin. To temper the Chrysamere Sword, players will need the Arcane Blacksmith perk as well as an Ebony Ingot and a Ruby.
