The Together Team has announced its redesigned multiplayer mod for Bethesda's 2011 single-player title Skyrim that players keep coming back to, as is evident by its high sales figures across the title's many rereleases.

The Together Team has worked on several multiplayer mods for popular Bethesda titles Skyrim and Fallout, and previously released Skyrim Together for the former. The Together Team announced in a 2021 update, around the time of Skyrim: Anniversary Edition's release, that the original Skyrim Together mod would not be compatible with the latest version, and would be discontinued. In this update, the team then went on to announce they had been focusing on Skyrim Together Reborn, a rewrite of Skyrim Together that would be compatible with the Special and Anniversary editions of the game.

In its latest announcement, Skyrim Together Reborn would be released this Friday, July 8, skipping the previously announced Beta version, albeit with bugs as the team pointed out "making a singleplayer game into a multiplayer game without source code is near impossible", warning fans that "[Skyrim Together Reborn] will occasionally crash, some quests will break, there will be bugs", although with the mod being open source, there is the possibility new contributors will help build on the solid base made by The Together Team. The announcement did reiterate that "it's playable, it's fun, and it's a lot better than the old Skyrim Together mod", which was the team's goal. for the old Skyrim Together mod has now been stopped and the old links have already been taken down.

For Fallout fans, the announcement of Skyrim Together Reborn's release date came with a less promidate for those waiting on The Together Team's Fallout Together mod, a co-op mod for Fallout 4. While Fallout Together hadn't been canceled, the number of people working on it has reduced significantly, and there is currently only one developer on the team who is interested in continuing the project. However, The Together Team hopes new contributors will come aboard to help build on the mod, with the desire that the open-source nature of their mods will inspire others to help work on finishing Fallout Together as well.

Due to Bethesda rereleasing Skyrim across multiple platforms and console generations, it's worth noting Skyrim Together Reborn won't Skyrim VR, versions of Skyrim prior to Special Edition 1.6, or the version available via the Xbox Game . For those who own The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's Special Edition on PC, The Together Team's impending release of Skyrim Together Reborn will hopefully offer an exciting multiplayer experience.
