After it was revealed in Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event.

In a new interview with ScreenRant, while promoting the Salute to Smallville convention, Durance was asked about her appearance during the Arrowverse crossover back in 2019, when she appeared alongside Tom Welling's Clark in Crisis on Infinite Earths. While their kids didn't appear on-screen, she was asked how she thought Lois would be as a mother. Durance shared the following:

Yeah, I think she's very intense. I think she's probably somewhat impatient. I think she's fierce and protective of her kids, but demands a lot of them and wants to teach them how to be resilient and strong. I like to think she'd have a bit of a sense of humor, and probably they would all gang up on Clark sometimes! [laughs] I think that would be fun, but yeah, I like to think that she would be quite a force to be reckoned with as a mom, for sure.

What Erica Durance's Comments On Lois Lane As A Mom Mean

One of the essential elements of Smallville was depicting iconic characters from the Superman mythology through their early years. While exploring how Clark became Superman, the DC TV drama also gave a solid foundation for exploring how Lois became the famous reporter that the DC world knows and loves. However, by the time they reached the Smallville ending, they never got to the point where they could explore Lois and Clark as parents, as they were not at that stage yet.

That was why, despite the big Crisis on Infinite Earths twist about Clark's powers, it was a massive deal to learn that they were raising two daughters. With Durance's comments, it would be genuinely fun to see a Smallville story focus on Lois raising kids with Clark, especially if they ended up inheriting their father's Kryptonian powers in any capacity. By that point, it would also show what Lois and Clark are like as a married couple, following the conclusion of Smallville.

Our Take On Erica Durance's Lois Lane Comments

Smallville's Tom Welling and Erica Durance together in the Arrowverse

If the Smallville animated sequel show that Welling and Michael Rosenbaum are trying to make happen ever gets greenlit, time will tell if the Crisis on Infinite Earths story aspects will be included, especially with Lois and Clark as parents. While Clark would obviously be Superman again, there is no reason they couldn't keep the family aspect, showing Clark and Lois juggling parenthood and their careers at the same time. But until a revival happens, Durance's comment offers great insight into what the Smallville characters would be like as parents.

Salute to Smallville begins this weekend, October 5-6, at the Hilton Parsippany Hotel in New Jersey.
