Snake Eyes told the origin story of the most mysterious fan-favorite member of the G.I. Joe franchise. However, it was more than just another G.I. Joe story, ignoring the military and political espionage and telling a tale of vengeance and honor in a community of ninjas and warriors.
This allowed the movie to add in some interesting character types, as the characters live in a world where honor and disgrace are ways of life. With ruthless villains, honorable ninja warriors, and conflicted heroes, Snake Eyes runs the gamut of character traits, many of which tie in well with certain zodiac signs.
Snake Eyes: Gemini
Snake Eyes is about a man trying to learn more about his past so he can move on with his future. However, what makes this warrior's journey so difficult is that one answer often opens a puzzle box that contains another puzzle he has to figure out. Snake Eyes is also someone who flipped from villain to hero without changing much.
This is a perfect description of a Gemini, someone who is always learning and always curious, while also very smart and intuitive, which Snake Eyes proved to be this entire movie. However, he is also impulsive, immature, and vulnerable, three other Gemini traits that can lead to the its downfall.
Tommy Arashikage: Leo
Tommy had a rough road in Snake Eyes. As the heir to the Clan Arashikage throne, he had a duty to uphold and a family to protect. However, he put his trust in Snake Eyes and that came back to destroy him in the end. If there was a tragedy in Snake Eyes, it was the fall of Tommy Arashikage and the birth of G.I. Joe villain, Storm Shadow.
Like a Leo, Tommy was dedicated to his clan, while at the same time boastful and magnanimous. However, his downfall came due to the negative traits of Leo, which include impatience and aggressiveness. His fall came when he lashed out in anger, breaking the one sacred rule of the Clan Arashikage.
Akiko: Aries
Akiko served the Clan Arashikage. She had no family and the clan took her in and made her one of them. As a result, she became fiercely loyal and protective of the clan. She was also someone who cared little about her own upward mobility, only living to serve those she cares about.
Akiko is most like an Aries, who is determined, honest, confident, and ionate, all of which she possesses as part of the Clan Arashikage. They are also temperamental, aggressive, and competitive, which Akiko showed when battling Snake Eyes to protect her home.
The Baroness: Taurus
Snake Eyes brought in The Baroness as the one sole comic Cobra villain in this G.I. Joe origins story. She was a perfect person to show up because she is a flamboyant and arrogant villain who was willing to not only work with others but determined to get things done with attitude and flair.
The Baroness is a perfect Taurus, as she is patient and has great perseverance and diligence. She also uses logic in all her plans and an understanding of when she needs to pivot when a plan goes sideways. She is also stubborn and possessive, and her desire for perfection often hinders her well-laid plans.
Scarlett: Pisces
Scarlett was the only active member of the G.I. Joe team to show up in Snake Eyes, one of the many ways the movie improved upon previous installments. She worked to help protect the Clan Arashikage, and she arrived in time to help battle Kenta and The Baroness when they arrived to destroy the village.
As a member of the Joes, Scarlett is trained and disciplined, but she also bears a strong similarity to Pisces. She is empathetic and showed that when dealing with Snake Eyes at the end. She is also selfless and idealistic, willing to put her life on the line for others.
Kenta: Scorpio
Kenta is the primary antagonist in Snake Eyes and is the villain that everyone has to stop at the end. While powerful G.I. Joe villain Cobra is involved, it is Kenta and his mafia organization that set out to bring down the Clan Arashikage, and he almost succeeded in doing so until Snake Eyes stopped him.
Kenta is aligned with the qualities of a Scorpio. He is a powerful leader, someone who can talk to others and convince them to follow him. He is also quick to anger and ruthless to those who cross him, ever worried about making lifetime enemies. He is also an extremist, a negative trait Scorpios share.
Hard Master: Virgo
When Snake Eyes showed up at the home of Clan Arashikage, he had to three tests before the clan would accept him into its ranks. The first of these came against Hard Master, where he had to take a cup from the warrior without spilling any liquid. It was a cute scene, but it wasn't until later that Hard Master showed how impressive a fighter he was.
Hard Master is most similar to a Virgo. Much like Virgos, he is a logical, observant, and faithful warrior. However, as he showed with Snake Eyes, he is also judgmental, pessimistic, and unagreeable with those he deems unworthy.
Blind Master: Capricorn
Blind Master was the second warrior that Snake Eyes had to work with while completing his three tests. While similar to Yoda in his training of Snake Eyes at this moment, Blind Master is closer in discipline to someone like Mace Windu in the Star Wars world. He is a great warrior that holds honor above all.
Like a Capricorn, Blind Master shows fairness and respect to the old ways. He showed his patience when he informed Snake Eyes that he had to listen to his heart to survive. He is also strong with tradition while also driven to be the best.
Sen: Cancer
Sen is the leader of the Clan Arashikage, and she is Tommy's grandmother. While she seems like an elderly woman, she proved in Snake Eyes that she is as deadly and capable as anyone. Despite her age, she fought alongside her ninjas and defended her home from the invaders, fighting to the end.
Sen shares character traits with Cancer. She is loyal to the Clan Arashikage and refuses to run from a fight, and like a Cancer, she will fight to protect those she loves. She is also intuitive. As a leader, even her negative points are positives, as she is paranoid when she sees possible danger and is standoffish, which protects her and her clan.
Father: Aquarius
Little is known about Snake Eyes' father. He opened the movie with his son, protecting him even though he knew people might be coming to kill him. It is not until the end that Snake Eyes learns his father was one of the Joes and was protecting the world when he died.
As for his father's personality traits, it lines up well with Aquarius. He is intelligent and creative, and it's these traits that allowed him to keep his son safe, even as he was about to die. His negative traits also kept him alive, as he was unpredictable and remained independent and mostly detached from the world.
