WARNING: Spoilers ahead for The Boys season 3's finale
They've never clashed onscreen, but most powerful heroes ever created in The Boys.
ing Aya Cash's character in the wrinkle-free club is Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy. Another of Vought's earliest creations, Soldier Boy was the original Homelander, considered Vought's top guy until his mysterious disappearance in 1984. His enhanced genes were even exploited as the blueprint for Vought's most powerful hero of all time. As such, analyzing who's stronger between Soldier Boy and Stormfront isn't exactly straightforward. Publicly, Soldier Boy was the world's most formidable hero before Homelander, but Vought also suppressed Stormfront's true identity, meaning reputation isn't everything...
The Boys season 3's finale cleverly settles the debate. Back in season 2, Stormfront boasted to Homelander about how her skin could endure his heat vision, resulting in some sexy super-powered fun. But when Ryan Butcher fired his own laser eyes at Stormfront after she threatened his mother, the beams cut like a hot knife through Nazi butter, leaving her permanently injured and missing several limbs. In The Boys' season 3 finale, Ryan fires those same powerful eyes at Soldier Boy, hitting him square on the side from much closer range than when he assaulted Stormfront. The attack stuns Soldier Boy, but in stark contrast to his Herogasm pal, he's standing up within seconds.
Who Would Win In A Fight - Soldier Boy Or Stormfront?
Soldier Boy taking Ryan's heat vision like a champ when Stormfront melted on the spot gives a pretty strong indication of who'd emerge victorious in a The Boys deathmatch. On one hand, the Nazi clearly boasts superior firepower, not only wielding lightning, but able to strike from the air. Unfortunately for her, Soldier Boy's body is evidently made of sterner stuff, enduring Ryan's blast and holding up nicely against Starlight in The Boys season 3's final battle. All indications suggest Stormfront's thunder would do little more than tickle Jensen Ackles' character, forcing her into a short-range combat situation.
With his sturdy frame, heavy punches and golden shield, fighting at close quarters plays into Soldier Boy's wheelhouse far more than Stormfront's. He wouldn't inflict damage easily, but as their brawl draws on, Soldier Boy's superior durability would win the day.
Comparing Soldier Boy's fight in The Boys' season 3 finale to Stormfront's at the end of season 2 also yields useful data. Stormfront got badly beaten up by the trio of Starlight, Queen Maeve and Kimiko during The Boys' famous "girls get it done" scene. Soldier Boy battles the exact same three women in season 3's finale (not at the same time, ittedly) and barely breaks a sweat, with Kimiko subdued instantly and Starlight needing a power-up from Hughie to make a dent. The huge difference between these fight scenes confirms The Boys' Soldier Boy would hold a considerable advantage if he and Stormfront ever got into an argument over the trademark for Herogasm.
