The second season of Solo Leveling was one of the single greatest seasons of anime ever made. In less than 15 episodes, Solo Leveling told an incredible story, featured some of the best fights in anime, and introduced a ton of new characters who will play a major role in the future of the series. While most of the season rightfully focused on Sung Jinwoo as he gets stronger, there were a few moments manhwa enjoyers couldn't wait to see.
Most of those moments revolved around the introduction of new characters, like the two Monarchs featured during the season finale. Other popular characters, like Jinwoo's dad Il-Hwan, also got to make a brief cameo towards the end of the series. Out of all the characters who appeared for the first time, none were quite as captivating as the mysterious Liu Zhigang.
Solo Leveling Season 2 Ended With A Bang
The First Season Broke A Ton Of Records; The Second Season Broke The Rest
Solo Leveling season two somehow broke even more records than season one. The season featured some of the best fights in anime, and Crunchyroll is so confident in their new series, they're posting all of them directly onto their YouTube channel for free. They've included Jinwoo's fight against Baran, Baruka, and even the Ant King in stunning quality for everyone to see.
While the second season came with a lot of answers, it might have introduced even more questions. Il-Hwan returned to the screen for the first time since his fight against Hwang Dongsoo, the first two Monarchs of the series appeared on-screen, and one character got an introduction unlike the previous two: The strongest Chinese Hunter, Liu Zhigang.
Who Is Liu Zhigang In Solo Leveling?
The Mysterious Chinese Hunter Introduced At The End Of Season 2
Liu Zhigang got one of the coolest introductions ever. He single-handedly destroys a swarm of Ants headed for China, showing that his firepower is even stronger than a fleet of battleships, but who is the mysterious Hunter?

10 Strongest Villains In Solo Leveling, Ranked
Jinwoo isn't the only powerful character in Solo Leveling. There are plenty of dominant villains in the series, but who is the strongest?
Liu Zhigang is none other than one of Solo Leveling. China is known for having some of the strongest Hunters in the world, and Liu Zhigang stands out as the best in his country. While the anime hasn't mentioned it yet, there's a class above S-Rank: National Level Hunters. The National Level rank is a rank reserved for Hunters who are as strong as an entire nation.
Liu Zhigang is known as "The Hero of China"
There are five Nation Level Hunters in all of Solo Leveling, with two more Hunters who could be added to their rankings by the end of the series. The five, in order, include Thomas Andre, Liu Zhigang, Christopher Reed, Siddharth Bachchan, and a healer who might be named Antoine Martinez. Sung Jinwoo and Sung Il-Hwan are considered to be as strong as the other five, but they never had the opportunity to be officially added to the rank.

10 Strongest Solo Leveling Characters, Ranked
Solo Leveling has some of the strongest characters in anime, but it can be hard to see which among them are the strongest in the series.
Liu Zhigang isn't technically a National Level Hunter in the traditional sense, but only because China doesn't recognize that ranking system. Instead of ranking their hunters from E to S, then National Level, they use stars. They give their Hunters a maximum of five stars to represent how strong they are, and Liu Zhigang is so strong that he's the world's first Seven-Star Hunter.
