Solo Leveling. He's strong, fast, and dangerously intelligent, but his greatest strength comes from his immortal Shadow Army.

Jinwoo has dozens, if not hundreds, of Shadows by the end of the second season. Out of all the Shadows in his army, there are 7 that stand above the rest. These Shadows are significantly stronger than the normal soldiers that make up most of his army. They're so strong that they get their own names, identifying them as the strongest right away.

7 Tank

The Leader Of The Ice Bears

Tank is one of the most exciting Shadows in Jinwoo's army. He's quick, strong, and unbelievably durable — hence the name "Tank". Before Tank was one of Jinwoo's strongest Shadows, he was the leader of the Ice Bears in the Red Gate Jinwoo and his strike team got trapped in. Tank was the Alpha Ice Bear and was so much stronger than the rest of the Ice Bears, Jinwoo's normal soldiers didn't stand a chance.

Jinwoo's battle against the Ice Bears was the first time that he really got to use his Shadow Soldiers. At the time, the only named Shadow he had was Igris. The rest were nameless soldiers said to be around a B-Rank Hunter in of strength. Jinwoo's regular Shadows did a great job at handling the Ice Bears on their own, but even they couldn't contend with the Alpha Ice Bear.

"Come to an End, For Now": After Solo Leveling Season 2, a Producer Isn't Sure What Its Future Holds

Despite the anime series overwhelming success, Solo Leveling's producer is unsure if or when the show will get a third season.

Jinwoo saw the striking difference in strength and sent Igris out on his first mission: to kill the Alpha Ice Bear by himself. Igris did a great job of slaying the Alpha Ice Bear, giving Jinwoo his second named Shadow. Since ing the Shadow Army, Tank can almost always be found at the front of any conflict. He's one of Jinwoo's most aggressive fighters, and before Jinwoo gets Kaisel, he also acts as Jinwoo's battle mount.

6 Kaisel

The Former Battle Mount Of The Monarch Of White Flames

Kaisel is Jinwoo's first named Shadow that can fly. Before he was Kaisel, he was Kaisellin, the wyvern Baran used as his battle mount. Baran was the final boss of the Demon Castle, the King of the Demons, and finally, the Monarch of the White Flames. Baran is one of the strongest villains in Solo Leveling, and Kaisellin was the perfect mount to enhance the Monarch's abilities.

Kaisel wasn't much of a strong enemy while he was alive, but Baran really didn't use him to the best of his abilities. Kaisellin was destroyed fairly quickly when Jinwoo threw Igris' sword at his head, decapitating the wyvern in the middle of the air. After Jinwoo's amazing fight against Baran, Iron dragged Kaisellin's body to Jinwoo so that his master could create a Shadow out of the beast.

Solo Leveling season 2 is officially over and everyone is eager to know all the details about the third season of one of anime's best series.

2

Kaisel really shines during the Jeju Island Arc. When Jinwoo is battling the Ant King and all of his ant minions, Jinwoo calls out his named Shadows to take them all on. Kaisel is seen decimating the ants with his sheer size and breath attacks, showing that even in a crowded cave environment, Kaisel is stronger that almost every other enemy opponent.

5 Iron

The Former A-Rank Hunter Kim Chul

Iron is Jinwoo's first Shadow that came from a fellow Hunter. He's also probably the funniest, and his brash personality stands out among the Stoic Shadows. As a named Shadow, he has a lot more personality than any of the non-named troops, but even Igris doesn't have the same bravado as his comrade.

Iron used to be an A-Rank Hunter named Kim Chul. Kim Chul was a tank while he was alive, and during the Red Gate Arc, it's revealed that he is an incredibly selfish person. He was surprised by the Red Gate and decided to sacrifice the weakest of the group to survive. His plan backfired, and he was left alone after the rest of his group was slaughtered by the Ice Elves.

Kim Chul then decided to take his anger out on Sung Jinwoo and tried to kill him. In the webtoon, Jinwoo actually plans on this from the beginning, setting Kim Chul up so that he can add him to his army. The anime paints Jinwoo in a slightly better light, but either way, Kim Chul is one of Jinwoo's strongest as Iron.

4 Min Byug-Gyu (Temporary)

The Only Shadow Jinwoo Has Ever Released

Min Byung-Gyu's story might be the saddest in Solo Leveling. Before he died, he was one of the few S-Rank Hunters in Korea, the strongest Hunters in the entire country. He was considered one of the best Healers in Korea and even his fighting abilities were considered to be A-Rank at the very least.

Jeju Island had been a problem for Korea for years, and the Korean Hunter's Association sent several of their S-Rank Hunters on the Third Jeju Island Raid to take down the ants once and for all. The Hunters included Min Byung-Gyu and his close friends Eunseok and Baek Yoonho, two more S-Rank Hunters. Unfortunately, the Ants were too much for them, and Eunseok died.

Min Byung-Gyu retired after the incident, but he changed his mind when he heard about the Fourth Jeju Island Raid. His healing abilities are on another level, as he healed several of his comrades from fatal wounds inflicted by the Ant King.

Min Byung-Gyu couldn't save himself, however, as the Ant King killed him quickly. Even after death, Min Byung-Gyu wanted to heal his comrades. His spirit called out to Sung Jinwoo when Jinwoo was looking for a way to heal Cha Hae-In, and Min Byung-Gyu was able to do it. He never wanted to fight though, and after Baek Yoonho asked Jinwoo to let his soul rest, Min Byung-Gyu became the first Shadow that Jinwoo released.

3 Igris

Jinwoo's First Major Test Of Strength

Igris was the first named Shadow that Sung Jinwoo added to his army. Before Jinwoo had scores of minions to call his own, before he was one of the strongest Hunters in Korea, he was an E-Rank Hunter leveling up through the mysterious System. At the end of the first season of Solo Leveling, Jinwoo received a quest to enter the Job Change Quest Dungeon.

The inside of the dungeon is like a normal medieval castle. It was filled with archers, mages, assassins, and knights — all troops who would eventually be added to Jinwoo's army. At the very end of the dungeon was a soldier unlike any other: Blood-Red Commander Igris. Jinwoo takes him on in one of the best fights of Solo Leveling season one, showing just how good the action in the series can get.

Jinwoo's fight against the Commander is one of the few that looks like he might not win. He does come out on top, however, and after dedicating himself to his future, he adds Igris to his forces. Igris is as Stoic as it gets. What he lacks in emotion he more than makes up for in loyalty. The only time that Igris isn't right beside Jinwoo is when he's in battle, flying at his enemies with a supernatural ferocity.

2 Tusk

Formerly Kargalgan — A Powerful High Orc Shaman

When Tusk became a Shadow, he took Igris' spot as the strongest Shadow in Jinwoo's army. Before he was Tusk, he was Kargalgan, a powerful high orc shaman and the final boss of the Hunters Guild Gate. Kargalgan was easily the strongest enemy that Jinwoo had encountered towards the middle of the second season. Kargalgan was in a league of his own, even among his fellow high orcs.

He was strong enough to cast a dangerous spell over the entrance to the Gate, stopping any of the Hunters from escaping. Jinwoo was forced to reveal his strength to the world for one of the first times, showing just how strong he was in front of several Hunters Guild . His fight against Kargalgan is one of the best in the series, and a large part of that is thanks to Kargalgan's absurd strength.

Once the high orc shaman was finally defeated, he was added to Jinwoo's ever-growing Shadow Army. He became Tusk, one of the strongest magic s in the series. Jinwoo also gave him the Orb of Avarice that he got from defeating Vulcan, allowing Tusk to increase his firepower by 100%.

1 Beru

The Former Ant King And Boss Of An S-Rank Gate

Beru isn't just Jinwoo's strongest Shadow at the end of season two, he's one of the strongest characters in Solo Leveling. As the Ant King, Beru wasn't just stronger than the average S-Rank Hunter, he was leagues ahead of Goto Ryuji, the strongest Hunter in Japan. He decimated several S-Rank Hunters from Korea before slaughtering the Hunters from Japan.

If it wasn't for Sung Jinwoo, nobody in Japan or Korea would have been able to stop the Ant King. After one of the best fights in anime history, Jinwoo took down the Ant King and added him to his Shadow Army. He's the first Shadow that's able to talk and the first to reach the powerful General grade of Shadows, proving that even without any leveling up, Beru is the strongest Shadow in Jinwoo's Shadow Army at the end of season two.
