Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for DC x Sonic The Hedgehog #1
A major moment in pop culture history has just occurred now that The Flash have met for the very first time, and the race is already on. Thanks to the work of Darkseid, Sonic's world and the DC Universe have collided with the Lord of Apokolips seeking new power. As such, Team Sonic and friends are ing forces with the Justice League in the all-new DC x Sonic The Hedgehog series.
In DC x Sonic The Hedgehog #1 from Ian Flynn and Adam Bryce Thomas, Team Sonic and the Justice League are facing a full-blown "Chaos Crisis". Darkseid's legions of parademons are shown attacking Sonic's reality in their search for The Master Emerald, a major source of power Darkseid believes will help him obtain the Anti-Life Equation. To that end, each member of the Justice League is paired off with one of Sonic's allies, while Sonic himself naturally teams up with The Flash.
Sonic The Hedgehog And The Flash Just Met For The First Time
(And I Have Zero Notes)
Initially mistaking Sonic for the radio frequency being named Krakkl who's a friend of the Flash Family in the main DC Universe, Flash is impressed by Sonic's speed...while still believing he's the faster of the two. Naturally, Sonic begs to differ, telling The Fastest Man Alive that he can help out...so long as Flash can keep up with him. As such, the competitive spirit is already in full force between the two speedsters, exactly as one would hope during their historic first meeting.

The Flash’s New Costume Puts a Dark, Morbid Twist on Barry Allen's Legacy
Fans get their first in-narrative look at Wally West’s Flash costume. However, this reveal also introduces a dark twist to Barry Allen’s legacy.
As the issue goes on, the lighthearted trash talk continues as Sonic and Flash attempt to find Darkseid. However, there does look to be some mutual underlying respect for each other's powers. Their chemistry and dynamics are perfect, and the stage has clearly been set for this new series to definitively prove which of them is truly the Fastest Man/Thing Alive."
Obviously, The Race To See Who's Fastest Is Already On Between Flash and Sonic
Red vs Blue
It's going to be very exciting to read future issues of DC x Sonic The Hedgehog and to see how the new partnership between "Speed Personified" and "Speed Perfected" progresses as the fight against Darkseid and his planetoid Ragna Rock continues (who could easily ally with Eggman). Seeing how the first live-action Sonic movie saw the titular hedgehog rapidly reading a stack of Flash comics in his cave, seeing the duo meeting for the first time on the page is very exciting. That said, fans should place their bets now regarding who's the fastest of the two: Red or Blue.
DC x Sonic The Hedgehog #1 is on sale now from DC Comics.

The Flash
The Flash is the superhero name given to the DC Comics character who utilizes unparalleled speed tied to a dimensional power known as the "speed force" to overwhelm their opposition. Premiering in 1939, the original Flash arrived as Jay Garrick. Still, it would be superseded by Barry Allen in popularity and featured status, but the Flash is one character that has met many of their alternate selves. The character is typically seen as a part of the Justice League in nearly all incarnations.
