Every Sonic the Hedgehog hero has been given their own special place on screen recently, and the studio would do well to listen to conversations regarding what worked and what didn't. While Sonic isn't likely to flag in popularity any time soon, but its next movie should pay attention to Amy Rose, used well in Sonic 3.
Amy Rose is a main character in the anime series Sonic X and the Archie Comics comic series, as well as a big feature in the Paramount Pictures Sonic movies. Launching in 2020, the action-adventure franchise opened with Sonic the Hedgehog, directed by Jim Fowler and written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. Starring James Marsden and Jim Carrey, the movie was a hit and led to two successful sequels; a fourth Sonic movie is now in the works. And as of Sonic the Hedgehog 3's ending, Amy Rose may be the key to its success.
The First 3 Sonic The Hedgehog Movies Were Pretty Light On Female Characters
Sonic The Hedgehog Has Been Quite Masculine Up To Movie 3
Out of every video game character in the Sonic the Hedgehog movies, Amy Rose may be the most promising in the future, even though she only crops up toward the end of the third movie, when the franchise has felt very testosterone-fueled so far. This is fair enough to a certain extent, riffing off the traditional younger male demographic of the video games. But now, Amy Rose could be one of the most interesting characters in the entire world of Sonic. Going into Sonic 4, she could shake things up and bring in a new audience.
Amy Rose Needs A Substantial Part In Sonic The Hedgehog 4's Story
Sonic 4 Shouldn't Ignore Amy Rose If It Wants To Be Big
After the Sonic 3 ending, the Sonic the Hedgehog 4 movie would not be complete without Amy Rose playing a substantial part in the plot. Amy is a long-time irer of Sonic and often humanizes the selfless speedster throughout his many adventures, as per Sega's long history and the lore encoming many different media formats. Amy Rose's crush on Sonic would be an important addition to an action-packed boys' club. While Sonic has been great, some human interest to dramatize relationships and a relatable female figure would boost it significantly.

Only One Main Sonic The Hedgehog Character Hasn't Had Their Own Movie & It Breaks My Heart To Say It
Despite there being three live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movies, I am saddened that one major character has not received a central focus.
After Amy Rose's strong introduction in Sonic 3, it seems like the movie franchise is headed in the right direction. It will only take the right marketing to the right segment and a strong script to propel Sonic 4 into box office territory that previous movies did not quite grasp and raise awareness of the franchise. With her Pika Pika Hammer and action-centric entry, it is clear that Amy will be a driver of the plot and fighting the good fight, rather than an obstacle to the action. Thus, Sonic the Hedgehog should use this underrated character to the maximum in the future.
