Per a new report from Vice, Ballard was the subject of a sexual misconduct investigation conducted earlier this year. Ballard parted ways with O.U.R. this past June, and the latest report reveals that his departure followed allegations of sexual misconduct from seven women and a subsequent investigation. "O.U.R. is dedicated to combatting sexual abuse, and does not tolerate sexual harassment or discrimination by anyone in its organization," O.U.R. wrote in a statement to Vice. The organization opted not share the outcome of the investigation.

Sound Of Freedom Controversies Explained

Sound of Freedom has been a major box office hit, but it's also been the subject of some controversies. Some of these controversies surround Caviezel himself, who has previously shared harmful QAnon beliefs. Monteverde, however, has denied that the movie has any QAnon connections and has distanced himself from Caviezel's beliefs, previously telling Variety that the connections ultimately "hurt his work."

Part of the reason for Sound of Freedom's massive success has been the grassroots nature of its and financing. The film relied on crowdfunding for much of its budget, but has also benefited from a "pay it forward" campaign at the box office, which was ultimately very effective. It was revealed last month, however, that one backer of the movie, Fabian Marta, was actually arrested for child kidnapping.

Despite the controversies surrounding its star, one of its investors, and now its real-life inspiration, Sound of Freedom has been a surprise hit. The movie, which was made on a budget of just over $14 million, ended up pulling in over $210 million at the worldwide box office.
