The first images from Space Jam, not just visually but also narratively. Back in 1996, Warner Bros. surprised the audience with the live-action/animated comedy Space Jam, which mixed two very different worlds: professional basketball and the Looney Tunes. Although a strange combination with an equally strange premise, Space Jam was a box office success and became the highest-grossing basketball movie of all time, but critics weren’t fully on board with it and it received mixed reviews – however, that didn’t stop it from amassing a cult following.

Space Jam 2 follows the basic idea of its predecessor with an NBA star ing the Looney Tunes’ team, but it’s already very different from it on different levels. Space Jam 2 gave Bugs Bunny and company a 3D look, which makes them a bit more realistic, contrary to what the first movie did, which stayed true to their cartoon essence and wasn’t too concerned about seamlessly blending the real world with the cartoon one. The biggest difference, however, is in of narrative, as even though it’s also a comedy, it has a more serious tone as well.

Space Jam was all about Michael Jordan’s career as well as that of the Looney Tunes, as the Monstars were threatening to end with it by enslaving them, but Space Jam 2 will take a different route. Instead, the movie will see LeBron James and his son Dom (played by Cedric Joe) trapped in a virtual space by a rogue algorithm named AI-G Rhythm (Don Cheadle). LeBron will then have to lead Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Lola Bunny, and the rest to victory over the AI-G’s digitized champions on the court in order to return home safely. LeBron had previously shared that it will be a more emotional story than what viewers would expect from a Space Jam sequel, as it focuses on his relationship with his son, and it was described by him as “a parenting movie between me and my son, and me trying to demand my son to do something because I was taught that way growing up”, as his son’s main interest is becoming a video game developer.

In addition to that, Space Jam so popular.
