With Spider-Man 4's story still a secret, many rumors and theories have begun to spread, pondering what the MCU movie could be about. One of the leading ideas is that the MCU will make the most of its Multiverse Saga and bring back Andrew Garfield & Tobey Maguire's versions of Spider-Man for Holland's next solo film. However, the actor has revealed that Spider-Man 4's plot is different from what the MCU has done with the character, so a straightforward multiverse event with the three Spider-Men looks unlikely.

Tom Holland is getting ready to start filming Spider-Man 4 next summer, and the actor has revealed how long he wants to continue making MCU movies.

However, there is a way for all three stars to be involved in the MCU's next Spider-Man movie. Based on its summer 2025 filming start, Spider-Man 4 is likely to come after Avengers: Doomsday, which enters production next spring. As such, the Spider-Man film should be released between the next two Avengers movies. Based on Marvel Comics' Secret Wars, it would make sense for 2026's Avengers: Doomsday to end with Doctor Doom creating Battleworld, which is a planet made up of pieces of several Marvel locations and multiverse characters. Holland could be teasing that Spider-Man 4 takes place in Battleworld.

The MCU Movie Sounds Exciting

While it did not reveal much, Holland's tease has increased my interest in Spider-Man 4. As this is the start of a possible new trilogy for the actor, with a new director in charge, it's great that Marvel and Sony are attempting to do something different this time around, and Holland seems confident that fans will love the idea behind Spider-Man 4's "crazy" story. I would love to see a street-level crime story that follows Spider-Man: No Way Home's ending, but if the Battleworld theory is true, then such a unique location could lead to a thrilling Spider-Man 4.
