MCU's Spider-Man franchise, and according to a new report, Spider-Man 4 is shaping up to be an incredibly ambitious film.

According to a new report from The InSneider, Spider-Man 4 will feature Zendaya's MJ in a minor role, Charlie Cox returning as Daredevil, symbiotes, and possibly Mephisto and Jon Bernthal's Punisher. Zendaya's role in the movie is said to be smaller due to her packed schedule, which would leave only August 2025 available for her to shoot Spider-Man 4, as the actress will film Euphoria season 3 and Dune: Messiah around Spider-Man 4's production.

Sacha Baron Cohen could appear as Mephisto in the movie — he will reportedly debut in Ironheart — though a secret project at Universal could derail that. Sources were mixed about the Punisher appearing, which could still happen, but Daredevil is confirmed to be in the MCU movie. Peter Parker will also reportedly have new classmates, which indicates a college storyline. Marvel did not respond for comment.

Tom Holland's Next Spider-Man Movie Will Be A Massive Endeavor

Following Spider-Man: No Way Home is a daunting quest, but it seems that Marvel and Sony have taken that job with plenty of confidence. Charlie Cox's Daredevil has long been requested by fans for the movie after the actor had a cameo as Matt Murdock opposite Tom Holland's Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home. His reported return for Spider-Man 4 could lead to a major role for the star, now also appearing as Daredevil, not only Murdock. The possibility of Jon Bernthal's Punisher also showing up teases that Spider-Man 4 could be a major street-level movie like many want.

The symbiotes, which are said to factor into Spider-Man 4's script, connect to a piece of Venom being left behind in the MCU. Knull's return tease in Venom: The Last Dance could also lead to the movie. After Spider-Man: No Way Home's ending, it makes sense for Zendaya's MJ to have a severely reduced role in Spider-Man 4. After all, she does not who Peter is. This allows the MCU film to enlist a new ing cast for Holland's character, which the report teases through new classmates — Peter met Harry Osborn and Gwen Stacy in college in Marvel Comics.

The MCU Movie Sounds Very Exciting

Mephisto would make sense for the movie, as the villain could be how Peter Parker finds a way for the world to him, though there would likely be disastrous consequences. I am excited by the reveals in the new Spider-Man 4 report, especially due to how they make a street-level story more likely. Daredevil, Punisher, a college setting, and a symbiote suit storyline would fit the darker and more mature direction of the franchise after Spider-Man: No Way Home. I'm also okay with MJ's reduced Spider-Man 4 role, as she can play a bigger part later.
