Luckily, this won’t be the end of Peter’s adventures on the big screen, as a fourth Spider-Man movie is in development. Although Tom Holland has now read the latest draft. Speaking with Rich Roll, Holland revealed the script still needs some work, but the biggest reveal was that he read the script with Zendaya. While this could be Holland breaking the rules again and publicly talking about it, he might have teased a big Spider-Man 4 character return.

Why Else Would Zendaya Read Spider-Man 4’s Script?
Tom Holland is no stranger to breaking Marvel’s legendary strict rules and then openly talking about it, so much so that Marvel has used this to its advantage a couple of times. However, when it comes to the script for Spider-Man 4, there’s really only one reason he should be sharing it with Zendaya, and that’s MJ returning in the next movie. Although this shouldn’t be surprising given that MJ is Peter’s love interest, the ending of No Way Home completely changed their story.

As mentioned above, Peter decided to make Strange cast a spell that would make everyone forget about him so the gates of the multiverse could be closed, but that included losing all his loved ones. At the end of No Way Home, Peter visited the coffee shop where MJ worked and bought a coffee, and was visibly heartbroken when he was hit with the realization that she doesn’t know who he is anymore, and so he isn’t part of her life anymore.

If that’s part of the story of Spider-Man 4, then MJ’s return can be explained by her memories being restored and her and Peter getting back together.

Zendaya’s Michelle Jones is an important part of the MCU’s Spider-Man franchise, and there is hope the actor could return to the role in Spider-Man 4.
Another possibility is that MJ will be in trouble in Spider-Man 4, leading the web-slinger to help and rescue her, even if she doesn’t know who’s behind the mask. It could also be possible that Peter has found a way to get close to MJ again, like a “fresh” start, as he would have to introduce himself again and win her over, but Spider-Man 4 could also play a bit more with the multiverse. Spider-Man could end up in another part of the multiverse and meet an MJ variant, allowing Zendaya to return but as another version of her character.
