Donald Glover is still open to making more appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after a minor but meaningful role in appears in a scene where he meets with Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and tells him Toomes' whereabouts, memorably giving the advice, "You gotta get better at this part of the job."

Despite Glover's notable appearance in Homecoming, the movie is the least of his accomplishments right now. He's on a roll as an actor, as he stars in the acclaimed series Spider-Man appearances just yet.

As detailed in a new profile story on Glover in THR on Wednesday, Homecoming director Jon Watts reportedly approached the actor about playing Davis. Watts would not have even had the character in the movie if Glover didn't play him, saying, "If you don't do [the part], we aren't going to [include] it." The story added that Glover is "not ruling out a future with Spider-Man," as his role as Davis could ultimately grow more significant if the MCU eventually makes a Spider-Man spinoff about Miles Morales, who is briefly referenced in Homecoming.

Spider-Man Homecoming Donald Glover

Glover famously campaigned to get the role of Spidey himself back in 2010 but was too old to play Peter Parker once it came time to make Homecoming. He also voiced Miles Morales in two episodes of the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series in 2015, so clearly Glover is quite fond of the web-slinging superhero.

Based on Glover's obvious affinity for the Spider-Man universe, it's likely that he'd gladly reprise his role as Aaron Davis in a future movie - especially if it's in a bigger role as part of a movie about Miles Morales. At this point, the 33-year-old may have to settle for playing characters other than Spider-Man himself, but Sony and Marvel Studios can at least rest assured that he would bring plenty of ion for the character to the project.

Despite the distinct possibility that Glover would return in future Spider-Man movies, the future direction for the hero is largely uncertain. The Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel is set for the summer of 2019 at the earliest and it's unclear where Glover will be in his career at that point. But the prospects of him making more appearances as Aaron Davis will surely have fans of the character excited.
